Title: Danny Almonte scandal is over
Post by: markc111 on August 31, 2001, 11:35:03 AM
Yep, it\'s official. The alleged 12 year old amazing pitcher from the Bronx is in fact 14 years old. That\'s disappointing, I was very impressed with him and looked forward to seeing his career progress.

Where did you hear this at?  I haven\'t heard it.  Well his dadoo will be in trouble for lying on television.  Probably nothing big probably that the team can never have him on the team anymore.

I heard this just a little while ago on ESPN2. The Dominican Republic government released the info to them.

Plus they said since he was here, which has been around a year, he hasn\'t attended school. And, they also lied about the age of Danny\'s older brother. He\'s really 15 but they said he was 13. His parents can be in a lot of trouble for faking documents or something to that effect.

YEAH IT IS TRUE BUT THEY ARE BLAMING IT ON THE ADULTS AND NOT THE BOY. iT IS sad they would do all this for little league baseball. They are stripping the team of all the games they won. I bet his team mates are pretty upset.

And they say he did not attend school all last year and his visa is up and he should be shipped back to his country.

Man that sucks for this kid.

He really didn\'t fake the documents from what I understand you can register your childs birth whenever you want there. I heard his father registered it once with his real birth date and he registered him again shaving 2 years off his age.
