Title: Anyone bleach/dye their hair?

I\'m interested in bleaching my hair but have never really colored it before.  Can anyone recommend some products to do it with?  I have really dark brown hair.  Someone told me about Bleach-blonde er something but I\'d like to hear of any other alternatives.

How do I want it to look like?  Well I\'ve always liked Mark McGrath\'s hair:

but it looks more of a dye than bleach, or am I wrong?

I\'d have to agree with EmperorRob in that any sort of bleach/dye job that you can possibly do will ultimately end up retarded. You might as well just set fire to your hair if you hate it so much.

I\'ve both dyed & bleached my hair a couple of times, once it was even bright red. Now I\'m back to my original color and intend to keep it that way because bleaching or dying is too damaging.

THX... I have done it a number of times...  Bleach...  Goto a hair supply place and buy the powder bleach with the liquid mixing agent..  Blue something is the name..  Ask the person working there and they will steer you in the right direction...

well i just have my friends mom do it for me and if you want it to look like Mark McGraths then you will need to have it done by a hairsylist probaly since you will need to pull it through a cap and what not

oh well i say go with the dye not the bleach

Try getting it professionally done if you don\'t want to mess up your hair. Paying a few extra bucks is better than having a dead looking animal on your head.

Well I went and got Bleach-blonding by Loreal and had my bro put it in.  Since my hair is VERY dark it came out to an orangish color and not quite blonde.  I\'m liking it a lot.  And now that my family is getting used to it they\'re starting to like it too.  haha

I think I will start doing this more often.  Thanks for the input guys.
