AS terms of launch.. I think the ps2 launch had to be one of the biggest things We have seen in gaming in a very long time. I mean the craze had been building up for over a year. And it just exploded at launch.
I don\'t think I ever seen anything like it before. Parents in best buy pushing and shooving eachother to be the first to get in and get a ps2. PS2 selling for 1600 on ebay. PPl standing at best buy and target at 400am in the morning it was crazy. It was blasted all over the media every other second. That has be the biggest craze in video game history.
But when I look at gcn and xbox. They hardly are getting nearly as much attention and focus as ps2 did. I mean the total interest is not the same as it was for ps2. Ps2 was on the tv on the radio. It was everywhere. That is all I heard ppl mentioning.
I hope the xbox just pulls in good numbers. The gcn should do well with it\'s low, but you never know. Nintendo has been on the recieving end of all the back lash lately.
Nintendo does not judge it\'s system bye it\'s launch anyhow. It Is not like n64 was a killer launch. They clean up after launch anyways. And we all know gcn is here to stay no matter what. But I see xbox being judge by how good it does at launch.

The reason for the Playstation 2 popularity is because the original Playstation was extremly popular and a household name
I remember so many Sega fans and Nintendo fans way back saying Sony\'s lack of a name change for the platform was a sign of SOny\'s lack of creativity
It was funny back then and its still funny now.
Everyone recognizes the playstation name, add a 2 on that and people new a next generation game machine was on the way.
Thats part of the reason why the PS2 got so much hype and attention in comparison
And Sony will lead the early years of this console war, but I expect XBox to creep up on Sony towards the end of this generation although they won\'t catch SOny, MS will establish itself as a major player

i hope xbox does establish itself too....because we need a good rivalry like the old snes vs genesis.... (ps2 vs xbox) ???
gamecube can stand apart, like the turbo graphics 16, for all i care.

The GC hasn\'t suffered that much backlash. People have gotten over the Metriod for the most part... Same with cel-shaded Zelda. Nintendo has yet to announce Pokemon, so people can\'t complain about that and like I\'ve always said, Nintendo\'s target audience is happy as ever....

i wont give you the lame \'your not a gamer\' crap...but i will ask you, why do you want the xbox to die?
besides the fact that its microsoft and bill gates, wouldnt you want another great console that can take gaming to another level?
i mean, with nintendo targetting toddlers again, its not like the gc will take gaming to the next level or giving us monster titles like the ps2 and xbox can bring...
so whats the reason behind your death wish ?

well i sure hope youre right, cause once i dish out 300 huned for an xbox, they better come out with some good games and not ps2 ports with better graphics....

I heard xbox has over 80 exculsive games for it as well. Plus the systems getting major support. As for xbox graphics there going to be amazing as well I think there a notch above ps2 and gamecube. Gamecube support hasn\'t impressived me at all. I have a good feeling about xbox I\'m going to preordered mine this week.:thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:

xbox will no doubt look better than the ps2 because of texturing and anti-aliasing alone....but im afraid of the games....
if games come out on ps2, then come out on the xbox 6 months later ill be pist because i know theyll look better on teh xbox and ill be pist that i bought the lesser quality one...thats gonna be a conflict....i know silent hill 2 is coming for xbox in the future so im pist at that..plus the arcade fighters such as soul caliber and tekken and vf....plus i heard of mgs coming to xbox also...and i doubt itll be a new one cause hideo said he was done with the series.....so it sux that i have to play the blurry and jaggy version on the ps2 when theres a better one out there thatll come out months later....should i wait?...prolly not...but ill be pist later....

You have nothing to worry about there. Afterall, they have a great first party developer in Nintendo, and all those great exclusive second part... oh wait, nevermind. That\'s the other system. ;]

Reality will kill the Xbox, it will. The XBox will not beat the Ps2, or the NGC for that matter, but sink below them. Think outside of the gaming world and into the future, yep, reality will kill it. Some people just haven\'t seen the reality yet.

COME on man you have said some really stupid things in the past. but you honestly can\'t really think like this. If all the consoles die and where just left with one how exciting would the gaming industry be then?
I mean with sega jumping out we needed someone esle to step in and xbox is like a sega too me.
