After some sputtering I learned to drive manual transmission. I learned on my mom\'s sport beetle(pretty powerful for a small car). Now I just need a car for myself...
-
It\'s a nice feeling isn\'t it. Once you get used to it, you\'ll never want an automatic again.
It\'s a little different for every car, but once you master 1st gear, you\'re in the clear.

Congratulations man. Now I have to learn to drive stick. Have fun. :D
-
good dude...how long did it take you? anyway...I need a car myself as well...
-
When I learned how to drive, we didn\'t have any automatic cars. I learned how to drive on a manual transmition. :) I agree with EmperorRob, I love driving manual, and hate driving automatic.

I need to learn to drive stick fast.... My dad is giving me his Firebird...... Dam... If I don\'t learn... I won\'t get that car, my dad currently doesn\'t trust me:D
-
my first car will be a stick. and i cant wait. double clutching will be soo much fun. my eclipse will seem like a street racer!
but i heard double cluching is bad, what does it hurt, and how bad is it if it breaks to fix?

I\'ve always wondered why Americans drive automatic but I\'ve never gotten any answers...
-
cool man, i got my learners permitt about 3 months ago and now that i am good at driving my dad said he is gonna teach me how to drive stick this weekend:)
-
Well I don\'t drive sticks. I would like to learn how to drive one someday because I want a real fast car. But you can\'t drive eat double cheeseburger and drinks a shake at the same time with a stix. So I love my automatics. They switch gears faster than sticks.

but sticks are faster, and you have more control of your race car.:D
anyways, i wanna have rev like a sport car, so by using stick i can do it.
also, stick is cheaper.

No offense to women, but they want what\'s easier which is automatic. But I don\'t know what I want yet. If I get a stick, it would be hard for a while to drive my car. If I get automatic, it\'s one less thing to worry about. So basically, automatic transmision is for the lazy. Like me :D

that is one of the reason I drive a automatic.:p

My girlfriend likes to ride stick too, just ask her.
Getting back to driving now, i like to drive stick, and had my first go at it in a Neon, :D That car is pretty good in stick mode, although the automatic sucks,...

In California your right hand is usually too busy giving other drivers "the bird" to be constantly shifting gears and such. Idiot jagoff drivers need their automatics.

Drive automatic: Its like the car its driving itself.. Freaking scary.. Feels like you have no control!
So says my brother.. (but then again, he drives like a maniac.. When he gave me a ride to school he went up to 180 on a 90km/h road.. LOL..)
My dad\'s Chevy is a automatic, and my bro doesnt like it..
He has always had a manual transmission.. (in his BMWs..)
I think driving with a "stick" is rather easy.. When you learn how to drive with it.. ;)

The only hard part is starting it up in first gear and getting the movements down. Believe it or not my beetle sounds ****in powerful and sounds so good chaning between the gears.
