This is an email from my brother about Madden 2002. He just got a PS2 and GT3, he loves football and most of the madden games.
"Madden\'s very cool. But the rosters aren\'t exactly accurate. I knew it came out oo soon! I was wondering how it could be released before the final cuts were made on the rosters in real life. Now I know....they fudged it. The Patriots backup quarterback isn\'t even on the teams roster in Madden! Little things like that and players who were cut in real life are still on the team. Oh well. THe game play and graphics are still very good. But I want to wrte them a letter telling them that fans would be willing to wait an extra two weeks for accuracy. Then they could release the game when the real season starts. That\'s how they USED TO DO IT! Not anymore. Money-grubbing-bastards!"
I think he it totally right. Why do you think they do that? What a pain. Is there any way to update the roster, etc?

I totally agree with your brother. I don\'t know why they do that cause right now there\'s not 2 much competition on the PS2 with football games, maybe on PC there is and one week means lot\'s of $$$ for EA getting all the gamers that like football but no as much as we do and don\'t care about the Patriots backup quarterback.
I don\'t think you are going to be able to update the rosters on the PS2 version:(. We will have to wait for Madden 2003 (Maybe EA release it before the Superbowl with the correct rosters of 2002 teams:D)

A: NFL2K2 for DC - online play, updated (and downloadble) rosters, huge franchise mode, new, more realistic gameplay (ask Ddaryl, doesnt even play football games and he said it was awesome sounding)
did I mention it\'s online? Good ole Madden stil can\'t claim that.
Boom! I think I felt that hit up here.

Yes, the best football game out there is NFL2K1 and hopefully in a week it will be NFL2K2. What username you use? I would love to play you some day. Mine is SonicMex.

When is NFL 2k2 due out for the PS2? I know the DC version comes out on 9/18ish.

To bad thats all an opinion, to me Madden is way better than 2k1, all I know is madden 2002 offers more features than any other football game out by a long shot, and I also think madden is way more realistic than 2k1, I knows it opinion but most people feel this way

Most ppl are idiots and they don\'t know real football madden has horrible AI. i MEAN the offense or the defense always reacts the same way when u do the exact same play over and over and over again.
Madden Realistic hahahahahahah there is not such things as pass rush on madden. Madden blows plain and simple.

Most peole as in YOU, your opinion isnt the opinion so dont act like it, and have you even played madden 2002, the AI is really good compared to other games like 2k1, and I dont even know what your talking with pass rush, it had quality pass rush in 2001, let alone 2002

But I actually do know, 2k1 was a good game for a while, my friend and I played it a lot, but once madden came 2k1 started collecting dust, especially now that madden 2002 is out, I just hope they added a bunch of new stuff to 2k2 just so it hangs with madden

You are indeed most ppl.
Maybe you should play Madden 2002 - I am by no means an EA Sports lover but they did really well with Madden 2002. The AI has been significantly improved as has the franchise mode.
Here are two favourable reviews of Madden 2002 by reviewers who didn\'t think Madden 2001 was very good (in fact both were massive fans of NFL 2k1).

Both sega/NFL 2K1 whores (self proclaimed in Matt C\'s case) feel that Madden 2002 is the best football game ever.

Now read the preview for NFL2K2 on PS2. It will blow your mind some of the stuff they are putting into it. Stuff that EA should have implemented years ago, if only they had time to shy away from the 5%graphics increase every year.
I can\'t believe i am saying this, but QuDDuS is exactly correct. And Madden has less/same features as NFL2K2.
NFL2K2 has online play though, glorious online play.
my name I use is NeoSega, most likely. I may be Razzy, though. We should set some games up, knowing that Tribal Dragons is pretty much bust. (with a name like Tribal Dragons, it really makes you wonder :))
Good luck with that paycheck Bozco. How much money are you up to now, 20 bucks a referral for EA?

QuDDus is not correct, he said that Madden 2002 has horrible AI - when anyone who\'s played it for any length of time will know that that\'s not true. It was in Madden 2001 but (shock! horror!) EA Sports actually worked on the AI, and the general consensus is that the newest incarnation of Madden is the best football game available.
My beef was with his comments about Madden 2002, not whether Madden 2002 will be as good as NFL2K2 - that\'s a different debate all together, and one we won\'t be able to have till VC\'s masterpiece is released.

dood, WTF? Are you on broadband with your internet? You don\'t need Seganet to play PSO just a regular ISP or the BBA. (I think the BBA works with PSO, but I\'m not sure) Anyhow, just pop in yer PlanetWeb browser and go to settings then insert the Number, Username, Pass, and TCP/IP settings you have for your PC internet. Then just make sure those are saved to your DC\'s internal memory and every online DC game you have should automatically be set up to connect at the push of a button.

I am using my friends old AOL account :(
I used the glorious SegaNet as my primary internet, but it is now gone, and, like you, my computer sucks. I can\'t run Earthlink, which would be my internet now, but I dont have 32mb of RAM!
:(
this is not good.

AOL? I\'m sorry man.. I really am. I don\'t think you necessarrily HAVE to have the software for Earthlink to have them as a provider. Remember, just the number, pass, username, and TCP/IP settings... that\'s all that\'s really checked when you connect. In fact, you may even be able to use AOL. Call up their tech support and find out if you even need a TCP/IP number input to use their service. If you don\'t, then just set up a Dialup Networking file with the info you need and see if that connects. If it does, then you can on the DC.
Last recourse would be to just get a local ISP provider who dosen\'t require you to install THEIR software. The only two ISP\'s I\'ve used are Rexnet and Waveone.... Neither one of them even HAD software for me to install.
BTW: Your PC dosen\'t have 32mb of Ram? LoL, I\'m behind the times but DAMM... just skip out on one DC game in lue of 2 32mb chips. It\'ll make a world of difference. Or do they even make Ram chips for your PC anymore? ;)

EXCUSE ME KID I SAID MADDEN. Not 2002 and I said I did not play 2002 note bozco\'s post. AND IF YOU READ ANY REVIEWS OF MADDEN ANYWHERE. EVERYONE SAYS IT IS MADDEN 2001 WITH SOME MORE FEATURES. Because I was going to get madden but all I hear it is just madden 2001 with a little extra features.
AND SINCE YOU EA ZOMBY HALF-WITTED SUPERBOWL FOOTBALL WATCHING FANS KEEP SAYING HOW AWESOME MADDEN IS OVER 2K1 I AM ABOUT TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT THE WEAK GAME.
FIRST The Computer in the game is so easy to beat. You can take any unknown half-back and run for 600 yards easily because the AI is so weak they never react. Second the game moved way to fast to be a real football games as you madden lovers would call it. The passing is just horrible a man could be wide open and 6 out of ten throws to him are dropped or bounces right off him. And let me say how stupid the AI is. You can run the same running play over and over and never have to worrie about anything in this game.
ANd the kicking is just terrible. How is it that a kicker can kick a kickoff through the roof but can\'t kick a easy 35yrd field goal? True madden runs smooth. BUt it has too many problems for me too put this game over. And from everything I have gathered about madden 2002 it is madden 2001 with better graphics and extra features. Same messed up AI.
