ok, here\'s my problem. my brother recently ran over our windows cd wit our computer chair, and now it is cracked. a big huge crack.
i dont think microsoft will send me another copy. they want us to pay $170+ to get another windows. any one can help with solutions? can i burn another copy, and get their cd code?
cuz my mom is baming it on me, and i am not in the mood to pay 170$ because of my brother.
will they give me another copy if i send it in?
help me before i am ripped off 170$!!!!

Dont ever do something that would require you to reinstall windows and you\'ll be fine.

but theres the problem. my mom wants to figure out how to do stuff, and because her earliest thing with computers is cobol, she tends to delete windows whenever it does somthing she dosent like!
so i have these days where my mom is like, hey i bombed the computer again today.. you cant use it, because i have to reinstall windows.
one day she did it 3 times in a row.
and now that my brother ran it over, she was looking for my computer (in my room)\'s cd for windows so she could use it. i had lent it to a friend and eventually lost it somehow, i dont even know. so now she is going to take 170$ outta my account if i dont find the cd or somthing. she makes absolutely no sence.
but thankfully i ahve talked her outta charging me for it, but she still wants to screw things up so i gotta get a windows cd.
do you know if you can compy one and use the same cd key, and still work? or does microsoft have things against that?

If you can prove you bought the software and registered it, and you have the cracked CD, I think Microsoft will probably replace it, but for some kind of small charge. Then again, who knows, this is Microsoft we\'re talking about.
If you want to save yourself the headache, find your OS somewhere else. I won\'t mention where else you can find it, but it\'s not that hard.

ok nevermind guys, i found the cd. downstairs, right next to the computer. right where my mom spend day\'s(yes, pural) looking for the copy.
i found it, after weeks of hunting, well thanks anyways guys you were helpful, at least i know i can trust good ole coredweller and tetrad.[/i]

he didnt mention it so he\'s fine. anyways i solved my problem so its all good. i found the other cd.... so its all fixed.
