Title: Which game system is going to rock in 2002?
Post by: GAMES on September 10, 2001, 02:58:21 PM
There is a poll over at http://computers.lycos.com/electronics/consoles.asp asking which system is going to be the best next year.I picked PS2 .It\'s going to be the best because there\'s so many good games coming out in 2001 and 2002.
FFX
Stuntman
Resident Evil 4
Tomb Raidar 5
Tekken 4
Soul Calibar 2
Maximo
VF 4
and more

Go ahead vote for Playstation 2!

Damn!!! What was that people that vote thinking? NGC and MS X-Box have both 41% of the votes and the ps2 only 12%:(.

PS2 games sucking once again.  Xbox and Gamecube have it, unless PS2 can do something spectacular.

The only reason that the PS2 has 12% is that most of the people that are voting GC or XBox have the PS2 already,
IMO. So they are voting for something they think might put their PS2 to shame, jokes on them, graphics won\'t win this console war,... IMO.

This list :

FFX
Stuntman
Resident Evil 4
Tomb Raidar 5
Tekken 4
Soul Calibar 2
Maximo
VF 4

Should read:

FFX (I\'ll put it here even though the series is getting tired--people still lke it)
Soul Calibar 2
VF4
Maximo
Stuntman (maybe)
_____________

RE4 -- this series is getting very old (although I hate to bash capcom)
Tomb Raider 5 -- Come on!?!?  Terrible series.
T4 -- have you actually played it?  It\'ll sell well to be sure, but it has a way to go (judging from arcade version)

Not much is known about PS2 games in 2002

FFX,  Maximo, The Getaway, Dropship comes to mind as a few but 2002 is not well documented with PS2 games thus far

There is quite a bit of specualtion and word on future games for XBox

Gamecube has its usual suspects but definetly won\'t out compete  the PS2 nor Xbox as  Console of the year in 2002 IMO.

Ooh, the whole ~12k votes. That makes up for how much of the gaming population? Exactly.

I don\'t know if this would matter, but look at the games listed underneath the description of each console.

Xbox: Upcoming Games: Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 2x, Halo, Dead or Alive 3

NGC: Upcoming Games: The Legend of Zelda, Metroid Prime, Luigi\'s Mansion

PS2: Upcoming Games: Simpsons Road Rage, Madden NFL 2002, Agent Under Fire (James Bond)

Why wouldn\'t they list the big titles like MGS2 and Devil May Cry?  And this poll has been going since June 1st -- before the disappointments of Spaceworld (in other people\'s oppinions, not mine. :))

A lot of Ps2 gamers are casual.  I think more nintendo fans and Xbox supporters go around online.

I have to agree. All the people I know who own a PSX or PS2 hardly ever are online and they sure as hell never chat or discuss at boards like this...
