What\'s wrong with Itagaki (DOA series) he\'s still insulting Tekken and Virtua Fighter. That b***** thinks his games are the best doesn\'t he?Why can\'t he just respect Namco and Sega\'s desesions about how they make there games?
Here is a link to the interview http://xbox.ign.com/news/38187.html

I\'ll just let Tekken 4\'s PS2 sales do the talking for me, and I think Namco should do the same. I really hope Namco doesn\'t reply to this attack by bashing DOA3, because bashing other companies\' games is a sign of fear and immaturity. I think Itagaki is a little bitter because TTT (an inferior game to DOA2 according to him) beat DOA2 in sales. There is so much in that interview that I want to pick apart and bash Itagaki for, but unless I can say it directly to him, it would be pointless. :)

Strange ! I thought Japanese ppl were always about polite
ways in public or in the press. Or if they\'re negative about
somebody else they\'d do it in a indirect subtle way ; now look
at em, plain bashing... maybe our Western ways start to rub
off on the Japanese LOL:laughing:
Anyway, I mostly find such bashing by devs a indication of insecurity about themselves.
Knotter9:rolleyes:

Did you read the pre-view one of the american mags said about DOA3? they basically said it is amazing i thtin the mag was EGM is it?
But anyway lets just say i am more excited about DOA3 then any of the other fighting games, and yes tekken will sell more, but people will still buy Tekken even if the magazines say it is the wrost game ever, because people think that nothing can be better then tekken, but i think people maybe in for a shock.
-
Damn.. He thinks he\'s a god or something..
I think Namco or SEGA should hire a hitman to kill that freak ;)
Anyways, I never liked DoA2.. Thank god for that!
Anyway, I mostly find such bashing by devs a indication of insecurity about themselves.
I agree.. And to top it off. I think he\'s insecure about his sexuality.. ;)

I think he\'s afraid that people will realize there is nothing but a shitty button-masher underneath all the tits and ass. I\'m not good at fighters, yet I buttonmashed my way through the DC version of DOA2 without any problem.

Umm Tekken is also a button smasher put at least DOA has counters.
Umm doa3 is the most impressive looking fighter in terms of graphics. I mean tekken and doa lack depth. Tekken having a little more depth than doa2. But a lot of tekken characters are watered down versions of the other characters. The storys in both games suck.
Tekken Tag having the weakest boss next to vf3tb. One can\'t bash the other because they both are weak fighters. But fun to play.
-
I thought the first tekken was the best in the series. TTT and T4 are pretty bad if you ask me. This bashing is getting ridiculous though, he should stop talking until DOA3 can back up his talk. If DOA3 turns out to be DOA2 with less jaggies on the titties, then I see a lot of backlash coming his way.
He doesn\'t bash VF4, he praises it mostly. I also agree that VF2 was the best of the series. If VF4 is like VF2 with a few tweaks, then I\'ll be the first in line.
If DOA3 turns out to be the best fighter ever then he can say whatever he likes. Michael Jordan was a ****y, trash-talking, egomaniac, but he\'s the best player ever in the sport of basketball.
If his actions can back up his words I don\'t have to like him, but I will respect him.

First; Tekken is NOT button basher, try beating a skilled person with bashing, second the counters make doa cheap + tekken also has counters even counters to counter counters, the so called chickens

Namco had promised to not include crap characters in t4 (with crap I mean guys like; roger, mokujin etc) but focuss on more the realistic characters that were present in t1. Doa doesn\'t have a story, but if you have followed telkkens storyline from the beginning you will know it is deep and interesting
-
hehe, Tekken has a deep and interesting story?
I never noticed...
Come on, the stories for all fighting games are lame. And arguing about which game is more shallow than the other is also lame IMO.
Just buy the game you want and stop the fighting.
Everyone goes home happy.
-
At least Itagaki-san gave us some good reasons this time. :p I think most of his complaining is justified, and I dont think it has anything to do with Tekken being more popular or the sales of TTT beating DOA2 or whatever. Why? Because I\'m also hearing similar complaints from other hardcore fighting game fans(But most of them aren\'t saying that the game is "****", but... Well, you get the idea. :D)
The guy is simply stating his opinion, and I wish there were more developers like him.

Tekken has one of the best story lines in any game series. If you have been following it since Tekken 1, you would know how cool it is.
-
Surely you jest.
Any game series...don\'t make me make comparisons.
-
Er, I think he meant fighting game series. :) If that is what he meant, I\'m going to have to agree with him. Street Fighter and Soul Calibur also have interesting stories.

Yes, the Tekken series has one of the best story lines in any video game. Go ahead and make comparisons.

Yeah t1 and t2. Besides those it has been pretty lame. And street fighter story line tares tekken apart.

Agreed. :) SF has a great storyline. Its unfortunate its not really explained all that well in the game itself(The Alpha games went into more detail, but still...).

I think they do a good job of explaining the story in sf.
Tekken storylines are never explained I have to read the guides to find out whats new and it is always nothing same old lame thing just with someone else or they add someone new into a fading story. And I wish they would stop those freakin lame endings. It plane sucks it was good at first but now they are so freakin annoying.

Heh, yeah it does feel like they\'re just dragging it along. They really didn\'t have to revive Kazuya. That clone crap is just stupid.
-
the reason why they chose to bring kaz back was because the fans wanted it, kaz is a VERY popular character in the japanese tekken community. Everybody expected it to happen, eddy gordo\'s ending in t3 showed clearly kazuya pictures.
Kazuya is probably the most badass and evil  looking character within the gaming community
-
Since you are the only one who thinks the story isn\'t lame, I\'m not going to waste the time to argue.

Screw Kazuya! We have JIN! And he is BETTAR! :p :p :p
... Ok, seriously now. :D I know the fans wanted him, and in a way I\'m glad hes back, but... That cloning crap was just stupid. I thought it was a little on the corny side.
-
not true, Jin is actually very easy to learn but kazuya is overall more powerfull but it takes skill and alot of time to master him correctly. I find myself fighting far better with kaz instead of jin. Jin is very srub friendly

Are we talking about in Tekken 4? I think Jin is a lot easier to use, but he is also a lot funner to use than Kazuya IMO. And he looks cooler. ;)
-
They are fighting games. All their stories suck, unless you count like the anime\'s produced for \'em.
-
Beh, Jin be stronger than Kazuya. Has some of Kaz\'s moves, and some o\' Jun\'s. And uhh... HE HAS BETTER FASHION SENSE! HUZZAH! o_o;
* Nu Gundam sweatdrops.
And lets not even bring up T4 Jin... IMO hes changed for the better, very powerful character. :)
