Here\'s one for all of us... Why do we support one particular ignorance on the part of our media: CNN (didn\'t need to point them out...easily could be any of \'em) just reported that the FBI has begun filling out paperwork necessary to expedite search warrants on various P.O. Boxes in the Florida area based on flight boarding information gathered from the planes downed today... Mmmmm...reeeeeal brite media, huh?!???!!! The warrants won\'t be issued & served until tomorrow morning.... I wonder what will be left in the P.O. Boxes when they arrive to search them!?
Is it just me, or does the media seem to offer assistance to those that would harm us? We\'ve all seen similar examples. I realize this is part of "free speech", but when it infringes on national security (as I believe the above information does since it could allow perpetrators the advanced warning to evade) the media should be willing to self-censure.

I´m sure that there is some sort of selfcensure...
It would just be dumb if they tell everything !

The media is full of jackasses. These peoppe care more about getting the story out before the other guy, than the safety of the nation.
The select medai group that traveled with the president on Air Force One that landed in Omaha was asked not to use their cell phones. Several minutes later, one stupid lady fired it up and told her news place where they were going next and what time, etc. Terrorists could just say, oh thatnks for the notice, now we just go there and wait.
They should kicked that lady off the plane. Cell Phones mess with the radio equipment and instruments on planes.

I agree about the media, but I also believe the majority of Americans Europeans ect... have become more untrusting of the media\'s 1st opinion or speculation.
I for one instantly remember the Oklahome bombing where almost all of us thought Middle East Terrroist were behing it. I think that incident was a lesson in media speculation.
I do believe our government will find the trail and find the responsible party

w1ngman, you\'re exactly right.

Speaking as a former member of the media I have to say that you guys are partially right, but also wrong. The FBI uses the media to their advantage. If the FBI told someone in the media then they more than likely were already done with what they needed to do.
The media overstep their bounds quite often, but if someone from the FBI tells someone from the media something, they know it\'s going to be broadcast. They feed false stuff to the media all the time. Maybe not always false, but unclear for sure.
As far as flying to Nebraska, blah blah blah. By the time we knew he was in Nebraska he was more than likely already gone.

Actually Videoholic. As a Nebraskan, I saw him land. I was on my way to work, which is next to Offutt and I saw the big blue Jet landing at the base. I was amazed becuase there were 2 fighter jets along with him too.
Quite secure. They did report a false time though, onthe news. They said that he landed at 2:06 when I saw him land at like 1:55.
