Are they looking out the windows? Or are they jumping?
Yuck.

New York Times 13. Sep. 01
"A boy at Stuyvesant High School watched from a window of the school library as people fell or jumped to their deaths from the burning twin towers a few blocks south. A classmate standing next to him crossed himself every time a body catapulted into empty air."
So... so very sad... I have to cry again...

Go to time magazine website. THere is a photo essay there that contains some of the most incredible images I have ever seen. One of the best photographers. Truly amazing. Also Newsweek has some great ones too. They are owned by the same commpany though so there is some duplication, but great none the less. There are a couple pics of people jumping. Very Very erie.

I read about the picture, and they said it was taken only a little before the Tower collapsed :(
It\'s so very sad pic... knowing that all of those people peeking out have died...
And it\'s awful not to be able to understand what has happened. I still don\'t - as seen from television it seems SO fictional...
And the sheer size of the attack. I have no clue how big those towers really were. I never saw them living - I have never even visited NYC. Yes, the towers look high from the pictures and television-screen, but still they look so small... I mean - it has to be completely different experience if seen up and close. And for me it\'s much easier to recover from seeing it...

What is deceiving about there size is the fact that all the buildings in NY are tall. Our tallest building in Tampa is about 40 stories. We have a descent skyline. About 8-10 buildings. BUt 40 stories. I couldn\'t imagine if one of these fell. Now, liberty 1 which is the building that has seen lots of damage and needs to come down is 50 stories. Then you more than double that and you have just one WTC tower. You put those two buildings in any other city and they would look obscene.

They are HUGE!
I was in the lobby of the northern tower in 1994-95.
And I remember a fountain outside the building..
If you\'ve seen one of those B- 767\'s you know they too are very big airplanes.
They look like small modelplanes compared to the towers.. (in the video where the plane crashes into the towers!)
We never went up the tower cuz there was a 4hour line to get there..
Instead we went up the Empire State Building..

If you want to see some good pictures of the World Trade Center before the attack, go to this site. They have some quicktime 360 degree photographs from ground level and rooftop that are amazing.

In the papers today, there was a headline claiming that someone jumped from the 80th floor and survived... Don\'t know if it\'s true or not.

Didn\'t jump. He came down with the building. But yes it is true none the less.

It´s the most horrifying thing I´ve seen in years.
-
I\'ve heard about the man also.
Only one question: HOW?
thousands die and one survives trough a miracle...
+ the few others found from the leftovers of WTC...
-
Thats awful...I hope the terrorists get what they have earned..

That pic is so sad :( and disturbing. I heard rumors about the man who jumped out and made it. I hope he survives. But what is his condition?
-
I don\'t know about jumping out and surviving but I do know that a security guard was running down the stairs when the building collapsed and he literally "surfed" the building to the ground.
