Tell me this if this is fake or not. The guy on the ladder is the brother of my best friends roommate. Apparantly it is a training operation and that was not expected to happen. I told him that it was a fake but they(My friend and his roommate) swear up and down that it is real. So I need some of my fellow Photoshop Gurus to help examine it.
BTW, Amateurs need not apply. Also I know what most of your answers will be. I just want some more responses to show these guys.
HERE (http://stu.aii.edu/~jkw411/shark.jpg) is the pic.

It\'s about as fake as they get.
There are a number of those pics floating on the internet, sharks in small pools and rivers.
Another things in that sharks don\'t jump that high out of the water, they are too heavy.
-
And all that have photoshop, did you get it legally...? Sure, thats what i thought...
-
After a quick examination, I believe it is a fake for two main reasons:
1. All the other objects between the helicopter and the water are shrouded in a mist created by the rotors, but the shark is not.
2. Sharks of this size are extremely unusual for the Pacific coast, and especially the SF Bay. You\'d be more likely to see one this size in the Atlantic, but still it would be very very rare.
BTW, I can\'t be sure about this, but the shark\'s mouth does not look right. I believe they don\'t contort like that when the shark is alive... Maybe it started as an image of a dead shark displayed on a pier or something... Also, as nO-One said, sharks are not known to leap out of the water like Dolphins, especially with a helicopter hovering there.
Since discussions of piracy are not permitted on this forum, let\'s drop that topic.

How does that apply to this topic? No need to stir things up for no reason.
I really didn\'t examine the picture, but the idea is scary. :)

Haha, it\'s the internet police. Before you go around presuming, describe the rational of your average ps2 owner (teens-early 20\'s) to go out and buy a $550 piece of software.
If anything when they graduate from college and get a good paying job and are in need of a good photo-editing program, they\'ll remember how powerful and easy-to-use Photoshop was and *gasp* buy a copy.
When I was in high school & early years of college I had a free version of premiere I got from my friends, but now that I have some cash I went out and purchased a copy of the latest full version. I was familiar with the software and make some amateur videos as a hobby. It may not be 100% legal but Adobe more likely than not will profit in the end. Besides they make the bulk of their money from professionals who use their products in the work place, not from little Andy putting a shark underneath a helicopter.
That\'s my take on it anyways, so take it with a grain of salt. :)
btw- sorry if I stirred things up anymore but I thought it was an interesting little side-topic. If there\'s such a thing. And yea, I think the pic is fake.

it looks like the JAWS shark at universal studios.
BTW, some sharks can and do jump, even higher.

Actually I do have a licensed version of version 6.
Besides that, why in the world the need for this thread. Do you really think that pic could possibly be real? Gimme a break.

I guess you never saw that special on the discovery channel. it was unbelievable. They were popping out of the water like Shamoo would do but with fish in their mouth along the way.
-
Great Whites can most definatly jump even higher than that. I saw it on TV and in the national inquirer they called the amazing "Flying Sharks", it was kinda funny me teacher was reading it for some reason.
-
They jump like dolphins. Really they do.
Check out shark week some time and see for yourself. It\'s amazing.

JAWS JUMPED out of the water !
No wait thats because they made him swollow a Air tank then they shot it.

ok true some sharks jump out of water but the proportions of that shark are all wrong for one of it was gonna attack that guy then it would have its nost pointed up and its mouth more open - also the fact that the mouth barely seems able to fit that guy in it even though the shark appears to be 3-4 times bigger then him
thats another thing its kinnda rare for a shark to be that big
-
Its not as rare as you think,I used to live in San Francisco and I\'ve personally seen big great whites jump up out of the water to get seals that sun themselves on small floating docks.
The crazy thing is that people who live there know that there are great whites and makos in the bay and they still windsurf there. I lived there for 15 years and never swam in the bay.
