Saw this at gaming age forum........
News just in from one of my closest chums in the States, who works on one of the US magazines.

MGS2, thankfully, isn\'t being delayed. It\'s still coming out here on 14th November. There\'s a scene at the very end involving an aircraft carrier running aground on the southern tip of Manhattan which is being removed - but aside from that, all remains intact. The reports about the game have been very silly, claiming that "Snake wreaks havoc in New York" - well he doesn\'t - it all takes place either on the ship on the way up the Hudson River past NY - or at a nuclear power plant near the docks. The city itself is only really in the early bits of the game when Snake jumps off the bridge.
If this is true this is this is the best news I\'ve here in a long time.

Now that there\'s a possibility that MGS2 might be delayed, I want it 10x more than before. We shall see what happens.

That right, MGS2 sets in NY and I hope this won\'t stop this game form coming out.

Great. Now I can breathe. I was so worried that they will delay the game and screw everything up. I\'m so relieved. I still have to preorder MGS2.

i just hope that thats the only scene that they cut out..i dont wanna find out later that they edited parts of the game...

No gurantees that this will pan out. From what I have heard, this story is BS (from Gaming Age) since, the ship blows up by Metal Gear Ray in front of NY. That, and Kojima hinted we would be walking around NY. Not just "pass by it".

Doesn\'t mean the first post though is 100% correct (like where the game is set, etc.) but at least we will still have this game in November. :)

You guys should be happy and appreciate that it\'s still coming out on time. So it has a scene or two altered/deleted, big deal. Would you prefer for it to be delayed 6 months? Or worse?

As well, I\'m sure the revisions will hardly be in the forefront of people\'s minds after this gem has been released.
