Did anyone see this list of songs that are now considered inappropriate because of the events of last week? It\'s crazy, people are being way too sensative and picky. Just take a look at some of the songs on this list and you\'ll know what I mean.

right this might be a short lived thread, but if it isn\'t then i have to say.
AND WHATS WRONG with Tramps, "Disco Inferno" ! :(
thats on my MP3 Playlist and even My Large Pink Tiger BrakeDances to it in Black and White :( :( :(
-
They have Tool\'s Intolerance listed, but not Aenima.
-
What the hell is wrong with these people? These are some of the most peacful songs out there. Louis Armstrong "What a Wonderful World"???? These people are messed up.
Edit: This is a good one, as we all know Alien Ant Farm\'s "Smooth Criminal" is the exact same as Michael Jacksons, so why is only AAF\'s banned?
-
It\'s our stupid ass backwards politically correct country we live in. The funniest thing is that the people whinning about political correctness are the same people that were smoking bongs on the white house steps in the 60\'s.
-
Tiss very dumb. The radio station I listen to here was making fun of other radio stations for being so sensative..
Im glad not everyone is bending over for this one..
-
Bob Dylan? Disco Inferno? Fuel\'s , "Bad day" and other songs? What the hell do these songs have to do with the WTC?sheesh.
-
I love fuels bad day but i guess it was about a bad day like tuesday was a bad day. What about sunday bloody sunday. Maybe if this happened on sunday that would be alright but it didn\'t so whats the deal.
-
yeah over here in the UK, the Radio one DJ\'s Like Mark & lard and Chris Moyles and the rest of the Radio 1 line up observed something like this during the same week of the attack.
From Tuesday to Friday they
- Just played Music with out any comedy in their broadcasts
- There was news updates every 15 min\'s
- The 3 Min\'s Silence was observed on the Friday
- only one person per shift i.e no Sidekick or Charaters
- A special set of Radio programmes where broadcast from Tuesday to the Sunday
- "normal" Broadcasting only resumedthis monday just gone
i was just glad to here that they conducted themselves in a correct way.
-
Heck for the first few days there were no songs at all on the radio. Even the pop stations were going with full blown coverage.
Things are getting back to normal now, but when we bomb them it will go back to full coverage probably.
Until of course we get bored again with the bombing and then we won\'t go into full blown coverage till the nukes fall.
Then we will get bored with that and go back to music again and then we will all die.:thepimp:
-
I hate sh*t like this so much.
I hate this politically correct crap, there is being politically correct, and then there is just being a dumb ass.
And AC/DC rules buddy!
-
Ok I do feel sorry for all the victims and everyone that knows someone that was in New York City but this is a pile of ****, oh no if the song has the word "boom" in it then it must be bad, I dont even see one song that should be banned for its lyrics, not saying any song should be really, but some of the banned songs is just ridiculus, WTF, if the song has anything to do with the word bad or bang or flying it is banned
-
this is pretty lame
i tell ya its stuff like this that makes america look like a pussy nation - all this damn censorship - i swear why do we always have to caiter to everyone elses needs - what about my needs
yeap looks like to get my way i am just gonna have to take over america :)
-
omg - f\'cking pathetic.
They should ban Friends and Seinfeld. Since they take place in New York.
/ dm /
-
Quite lame. These songs were writin before all this happened.
Even so... people. Grow UP.
-
If you read the article that accompany\'s this list it clearly says that this made to show some songs that "MIGHT" be inappropriate to play in the wake of the horror
Its only one broadcast company as well, and if these songs were ever taken off the air then I would be more pissed off at the USA and the AMerican people then I would be for towards Terrorists
My freedoms as an AMerican includes freedom of Speech.
BUT I would not have a problem if radio station would like to not play these songs for a a few weeks maybe, but I would never accept a full ban or non radio play
-
OMFG! They say Sam Cooke\'s "Wonderful World" is inappropriate, but they forget to list Sublime\'s "April 26th, 1992" (Still played on 98.9 Bear where I live). That\'s fookin Stoopid.
BTW ddaryl:
"Inspiration, move me brightly
light the song with sense and color,
hold away despair
More than this I will not ask
faced with mysteries dark and vast
statements just seem vain at last
some rise, some fall, some climb
to get to Terrapin"
I love that song. 18 minuites of sheer brilliance.
I also didn\'t see "Friend of the Devil" on that list. :p
-
Pink Floyd, "Run Like Hell," "Mother"
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MOTHER AND RUN LIKE HELL?
I DEMAND TO KNOW THE BASTARDLY BUTCHER BEHIND THIS
Don McLean, "American Pie"
CHRIST
PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS
Rage Against the Machine, all songs
THOSE LITTLE.. ..actually, I don\'t think that one can even be disputed..
-
Some of these songs radio stations are built on.
Can you imagine turning on a classic rock station and NOT hearing some of those Elton John songs??
Anyway, if stations don\'t play these songs, terrorism has won.
Most songs only passingly make refrence to fire, airplanes, death and control.
This is disgusting and sad.
And as for Rage Against the Machine, c\'est la vie. No band has ever been more full of sh it to the point of overflow as them. What a bunch of hypochrite fags. B-bye.
Still, my opinion on idiot momma\'s boys should NOT influence what you listen to, or what they play on the radio. Hell, I can always turn the dial.
This is almost as bad as terrorism itself. Shameful at best.
-
Wasn\'t John Lennon\'s Imagine on that list too?
Now that\'s pretty screwed up if you ask me
Not that it\'s played alot on the radio anymore but the song is a peace anthem ffs.
-
Why is "what a wonderful world" banned? Because it\'s not such a wonderful world? And "New york, New York"? that\'s just ridiculous... What about RHCP\'s "Under the bridge", I thought it was about Los Angeles.
This is going a bit too far..
-
I guess they have to ban Tool\'s Schism then, because it says "watch the temple topple over". Uh oh... I guess they have to ban all of the batman cartoons because they say BOOM! And they have to ban Emeril Live on the Food Channel because he constantly says BAM! POD is banned, they\'re a friggin christian band(not taking anything away from them, i listen to them often), why would they instigate something like this to happen? Lame...
