Hey whats up all Im new here and I was wondering if anyone knew if devil may cry is longer alot longer then onimusha ? I read that it was 23 missions but is it actually long as in hours compared to onimusha? Onimusha was a great game but It was kinda short ,hopefully dmc isn\'t so if anyone know please respond

Devil May Cry is alot like Onimusha (Gameplay wise...) I didn\'t really like the demo. but... I will buy the game

I\'d say it would take you 18-20 hours to beat it the first time.... Then the shortest time you could get would prolly be 12...:D
-
cool thanks
-
sorry to say this but it\'s confirmed to be around the same length as onimusha but when talking about length there are other factors that u should consider
1.replay value
2.alternative paths/endings
3.extras
dmc\'s supposed to have real good replay value n extras, but I\'m not sure about #2.

I heard that it takes about 11 hours to beat it the first time. That\'s about twice as long as Onimusha.
I know there is a difficulty that is extremely hard (Think: Timesplitters hard difficulty :)), and a lot of hidden missions to unlock, so the replay value is definitely there.
BTW, this game got a 10 from PSM. Have you guys read any other reviews of it yet?

Hmm, I don\'t think DMC is anything like Onimusha, gameplay-wise.

Today I got the UK-Version of RE:CV X and the first thing I did: I played the DMC demo (what a surprise ;)) I think the NTSC-Version is faster and without fat, black bars. But hey, the developers will never check it that bad PAL conversions are bull****

I agree with SmallLady on that one...
DMC has completely different controls than Onimusha and is set in a real 3D environment.

onimusha was reported to take 10 hrs too for some ppl. most ppl I know that play the japanese version said they finished dmc in 5 hrs the 1st time but kept playing thru it multiple times. theres also a dante must die mode to unlock which rivals mgs extreme mode in difficulty and a super dante which could go into demon form at any time as long as u want.

I\'m sorry, but you said WAY too much...

Here\'s why you\'ll keep playing it..
4 unlockable difficulties.. You start on easy, then you unlock normal, then you unlock hard (after you get hard you have the option to change the difficulty in the options before you start a new game) then you get dante must die (which is like ultra very hard.)
You can unlock two characters, one has a different sword, and the other one has unlimited devil meter.
Then there\'s leveling up your guy...(getting stronger moves and all that stuff)
And don\'t forget getting perfect A\'s for all missions so you feel special...  :shy:

DMC will be worth it, no matter how long it is. The gameplay is fantastic, the graphics are superior to any action/adventure game put out thus far, and the atmosphere and music are tremendous. This is the best game I\'ve played on the PS2, easily.

Actually DMC\'s gameplay is completely different than Onimusha(and all of Capcom\'s other "horror" games for that matter) and that\'s one of the best things about it. Finally an action/adventure/horror game by Capcom that doesn\'t suffer from horrible and frustrating controls.
