one of my friends tried registering on these boards, but it said his e-mail address is banned.  How can his e-mail be banned if he just got it?

What is the address?

If I recall, you aren\'t allowed to reg with an address @hotmail.com or @yahoo.com. I forget where I read this..

I had a @yahoo address when I registered.  Maybe they changed it.

What other free e-mail services are there?

excite.com, but dont worry this forum dosent send you spam emails. trust me.  you can choose whether it sends you an email if someone replayed to you or stuff. i just click off...

easy.

try excite.com if you still dont want to use your real email.

yea but i believe MM changed it to where anyone new that registers cant have em - try getting one with a place where you can make a webpage like tripod or something like that
