Title: Sega\'s NFL2K2 to be online for PS2 in Novemeber
Post by: ddaryl on September 27, 2001, 07:44:27 PM
Well atleast thats the info I got from Sonyweb

They talk about the harddrive but the last paragraph talks about the Mode/ethernet adapter

http://www.sonyweb.com/news/0901/072.html

Quote
On a related topic, Sony assured gamers that while the hard drive won\'t ship until 2002, the Ethernet/modem adapter is still on schedule for a November 2001 release. This add-on, priced at $40, will allow gamers to connect to the Internet via broadband or dial-up connections.

With internet access, gamers will be able to access e-mail, instant messages, and websites via Netscape Navigator. To start, the adapter will support such games as Sega Sports NFL 2K2, Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 3, and SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals, with more to come in the future.

Did anyone else know this. Seems strange that more people aren\'t hyped for this

That is wierd.  Sega hasn\'t even released any info on NFL 2K2 have they?  They should start hyping this up now to steal sales from Madden 2002.

shut up N-Player.

We only whine becaue we have been spoiled with NFL2K1, the best football sim of all time, and yet Madden gets more praise. We knew the experience of playing online, and playing it offline just doesnt feel the same anymore.

On topic - This is great news! Hopefull PS2 fans can play DC fans! I will show you people a thing or two about why NFL2K2 is better :)

the best football sim of all time,

datamage magically adds an IMO after that sentence. :)

4th quarter; 1:34 remaining.

me - 65
other team - 3

announcer; \'it\'s still anyone\'s game.\'

one of the many flaws of the best football sim of all time.

PSXXX continues the magic:

4th quarter; 2:00 warning:

Me (With the Broncos of course) - 45
Other team (I think they were the Raiders:D) - 0

Madden: "It\'s been all Broncos till now, the Raiders have to start playing if they want to win this game."

So? Madden and NFL2Kx have the same flaws. I only like gameplay on NFL2K series much better than Madden Series.

Sorry if I don\'t remember the exact words Madden use but they were something like that

PSXXX,

The only difference is I never said Madden was the best sim of all time. I don\'t even want to bother with this.. I don\'t want to turn this thread into a NFL2k vs Madden debate.

btw -  I had Madden 2k2 for the PS2 and returned it, and I\'m actually awaiting the release of NFL2k2 (on the PS2.)

Welp bad news guys I do bleieve Sega already announced no online for their PS2 games this year

You\'ll have to blame Sonyweb for the mis information . The gamers over at IGN pretty much said its not true, and lets face it we would\'ve heard alot more about it by now
