ok this is just some GOOD ADVICE on Slippages and delays of games
HE NEXT Edition of the Offical PLAYSTATION 2 mag (Europe) should contain deatles of games that have been put on hold as a result of the TRAGIC events in America.
AS SOON AS I GET MY COPY ill POST A FULL LIST OF GAMES that will be effected in the main Forum..
If you live in Europe and cant get a copy fear not ill post the Detals ASAP !
Till then we just have to wait

I heard a rumor about a ICO demo..
The spannish Official PS2 Mag will have: (I hope that the UK mag will have the same!(please god!))
Playable demos: Time Crisis 2, Klonoa 2: Lunatea\'s Veil, MX 2002, NBA Street, Rayman M, Silent Scope 2, Twisted Metal: Black, Driven.
Videos: Airblade, Burnout, Splashdown, Herdy Gerdy, Dropship, This Is Football 2002, Wipeout Fusion, WRC and I am Wolfman.

Dropship looks stunning, saw quite a lot of it on the Game Network and some coverdisks over the past few months.
As for what else is on the disk and mag we have only have to wait and see.
If anyother Europen members out there, has any info about game delays for us PAL games please feal free to post them here too.

I\'ve not bought the official mag for a while, as I was put off with a lot of the \'timed\' demos. Is it still the same, or do you get proper full levels/half levels to play?
Also, has anybody got a release date for GTA3 in the UK? I\'m begging for this game, man!

ooseven have you got the ops2 mag with playable demos of soulreaver, mx2002, spyhunter, tif etc..... cos i got mine the other week and spyhunter and mx2002 wont work, is this the same on your or what as all the others work fine

Im definatly not belittling the tragedy of what happened in America but I can\'t see why gaming should be affected.
I mean I was playing Sim City 3000 the other day and two of the landmarks you can have in your city are World Trade Centre A & B, I wasn\'t upset by seeing these buildings.
In short I don\'t think this tragedy should go as far as to making games developers alter games - if this was the case then why didn\'t many other games get altered. In recent years we have had Dumlane, American school shootings, that chemical terroist attack in Japan train station etc. Yet you still get schools in games and you still get train station in games.
Altering games in short is probably drawing more attention to the tradegy and this won\'t help the victims move on in their lives.

Sorry for asking what may be a dumb question but I just got my PS2 yesterday so I\'m new most of this stuff.....What does PAL mean? I saw a post for Wipeout Fusion which mentioned a November release for PAL users?

Im not sure what PAL stands for..
What it is? Well that I think I know :)
Its a region.. Just like the DVD regions..
Europe/Australia is PAL when Japan/US is NTSC..
We in europe can ONLY play PAL games. Cuz we have different standards here..
Like most PAL games run at 50Hz (the TV updates the picture 50times per seconds), while in the NTSC region it updates 60times.. (60Hz)
But if you have a 60Hz TV, some games might give you the choice to choose 60Hz instead of 50Hz..
PAL users also have better resolution in our games.
PAL: 640x512
NTSC: 640x480

Thanks, that clears it up nicely, and it also answered my next question....I can\'t play games bought in the US.
oh well, at least we get Wipeout before the US :)

Yeah I did a really cool thread ages and ages ago explaining what PAL is.
In short its a TV standard not actually a region. However different regions use this standard.
NTSC is the american standard and PAL is the british standard (but many other countries use these standards for their TVs).
The majority of PS2 games are developed in NTSC and the majority of these titles are converted poorly over to the PAL market. Meaning we have slow games and big boarders. Thats why theres so much talk about PAL on these forums.
