Lots of magazines have Dante on the cover.... Like for guesses.... Next-Gen?

heck those rumors have been around forever
its true for the most part - suppostedly they started making the 2nd before it was even released here but after it was released in Japan - i think mainly because of the good reviews of the game in the US and what not

I loved the first. It was was really my first favorite game on PS2.

What I want to know is when developers are going to $hit can the pansy a$$ character designs in RPG\'s. I do like the super deformed characters of FF VII and FFIX and I do also like the realistic approach of human characters in FFX as well. BG: DA also has great designs but IMO is also more of an action game with RPG elements
I am seriously nausseated by the constant anime look in RPG\'s and this is one of the reasons why I am hoping Xbox can pump out some cool RPG\'s with a Adult (for lack of a better word) looking graphics. Maybe with some success other developers will start to stretch the graphical boundries that almost seem set in stone my Japanese RPG makers
Dark Clouds cutesy design turned me off, and the so so reviews pretty much convinced me not to buy it.
SO to answer your question, the only way I would or could look forward to DC2 would be if they made they made more of the gameplay to the point where the game just has to be played. Gameplay in DC2 was reported as repetitive. Since I\'m sure they would keep the cutesy look

i agree.i liked the kind of characters in summoner and ff9.are u getting an xbox ddaryl.i cant wait for baldaurs gate ffx and jak and daxter the characters in those look good.

an Xbox is in my future. I would get it at launch but the PS2\'s line up is just too strong this holiday season and bank account is not strong enough
I enjoyed the Summoner minus the technical flaws, the games story kicked ass, and the gameplay was pretty good. The graphics could\'ve been better. Character designs we\'re ok, and more acceptable to me then anime styled or cutesy Zelda / Dark Cloud styles. I just don\'t care for it in my RPG\'s
Jak and Daxter definetly has a kiddie approach to graphics but more resembles a western styled cartoon then anime IMO, and its an Action adventure platformer not an RPG. SO the graphic style fits the genre.
but BG: DA and FFX look just fine for my tastes

yea but see i dont mind the anime approach of the character designs
and you have to look where these games are coming from - japan - anime central - pretty much - so i doubt there will be any really western designed characters till they appear from a western dev - thats why the two you mentioned have a western look - BG and J&d are both from american devs - makes sense when you think about since japanese have freaking anime drawings and stuff like it in their freaking textbooks for school
