I can\'t decide what to do about ICO! (return it or keep it)
I mean, look at these games coming out that will actually last with good replay value..
DMC
THPS3
GTA3
OKAGE:SK
AC4(maybe)
then further down
MGS2
Network Adapter
damnit.. ICO is SO DAMNED COOL, but i feel like i cant afford to keep it...
So far, I DO think the game is great, one of the best ever, especially the graphics and the feel of the control over the character.
However...
I hear the game is only about 7 hours long.. I\'m already about 2 hours into it, which is almost 1/3 done already, and so far it still seems like I\'m a tutorial or prologue to actual game. Does it get better? After you beat it, can you actually imagine wanting to ever play it again?

The thing with me is that I would keep a game as long as it offered an experience. While ICO is incredibly short, it does many things so well, that I\'d feel guilty for returning it. :)
Are you tight on cash? If so, then I suppose returning it would be the right thing to do. Even though ICO is probably 1/10th the length of those other games (cept MGS2,) those other games will probably provide 1/10th of the experience ICO did. (cept MGS2)
(though I\'m getting all of them.) :D

I beat the game yesterday, but I have absolutely no intentions of getting rid of it anytime soon. It\'s just a masterpiece, and I\'m sure I\'ll want to go back and experience the adventure once again in the future.
Oh, and don\'t give up on it so soon. It\'s actually more of a 5 hour game, but that means nothing when one considers its quality. The ending, in my opinion, was well worth the effort it took to get there.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Well, I will finish it first. I think the game is amazing. If I have to, I will return it and buy it again later when I have money, possibly buy it used.
I have these games I could trade in to help pay for the new ones:
SSX - keep!
Red Faction - sell???
DOA2 - keep i think
ZOE - Sell?
Summoner - keep (?)
NHL 2001 - SELL (for $5? :( )
NHL 2002 - Keep
Silent Hill 2 - Keep
ICO - pending ;p
GT3 - Keep
What would you folks do? I hurts me to sell my beloved $50 games for $5-$20 to some store... but I don\'t know what else to do.. any tips?
-
I am thinking the same thing. I just got a DreamCast from my friend for free. I was thinking about selling it for a contoller and VMU.
-
Cronus,
Don\'t return ICO for a mere $5-$20, if that\'s what you planned to do.. I\'m sure there are people online who are willing to pay more than that. The same goes for those other games,.
as far as your list goes;
SSX - keep!
I\'m actually thinking of getting rid of mine, I mean SSX Tricky is on its way and it\'s pretty much the same game with extras, right?
Red Faction - sell???
Didn\'t play enough of it to form an opinion.
DOA2 - keep i think
Are you planning to buy an x-box? If so, grab DOA3 instead.
ZOE - Sell?
I think this one you ought to give up. It doesn\'t offer enough of anything (except repetitiveness.) ;) And who needs the MGS2 demo when the game is so close.
Summoner - keep (?)
Never played it.
NHL 2001 - SELL (for $5? )
If you have 2002 why bother w/2001?
NHL 2002 - Keep
Silent Hill 2 - Keep
Haven\'t jumped into this one yet since I was immersed in ICO.
ICO - pending ;p
No comment. ;)
GT3 - Keep
Definitely.

"Don\'t return ICO for a mere $5-$20, if that\'s what you planned to do"
No, I still have a few days left to return it to EB for the full $50.
