Title: ps2 dvd-audio upgrade

I just wanted to know if there is a way to upgrade the ps2 with dvd audio player.  does sony have any plans for this.  I know dvd audio isn\'t popular now but it probably soon might be.  I mean, like buy a ps2 hdd and hopefully a software to upgrade the dvd audio drive.

do you mean normal CD\'s...it plays them.........maybe I\'m thinking of something else....................if it is Enlighten me on this thng called DVD audio.

SACD > DVD-A

Sony made SACD and even though I don\'t like the Sony brand name, it is technically and sonically better than DVD-Audio.  Don\'t expect any of these to be upgraded to the PS2.

it will be a few years before DVD audio or other such technologies become popular enough to warrant inclusion into standard players

Probably for the PS3 though

Oh, the reason I asked this because DVD audio runs in uncompressed data.  Meaning, we\'ll be able to hear DD and DTS 5.1 sound channel in uncompressed mode!  Crystal clear and loud.
DVd video run in compressed mode which still good if done professionally.
