Last year this time, these forums were bustling like crazy. Now it seems like a ghost town. Where\'s you guys excitement? There are plenty of PS2 killer apps coming out (you know, the ones you were willing to wait a year for) like MGS2 and...you know, some others. One question: Do you feel that spending $300+ on 10/26 last year was worth it? I may have been a bit hasty by returning mine a month later, but I\'m comfortable with it. I\'m going to enjoy the excitement of another launch in November and I hope it feels as good as the PS2 launch was last year. What were you guys doing this time last year?

Most people are playing games I guess..
Me not.. Im holding out for ICO.. and I can only afford about 1 max 2 games per month.. So Im saving up for November.. :D

I was gone while playing ICO, that could be a reason.

Tons of people had to leave for various reasons. School was the biggest factor. Hopefully as it gets closer to the Xbox and NGC launch, the forums will come back to life.

Off-Topic is alive and well.. doing better then ever, I barely visit the main fourm anymore..
I guess that just the way things work.. Kinda like a wave, a lot of posts, and then not many, then a lot again..

I know why I can\'t post nearly as much, SCHOOL, classes like calculus are holding me back from doing anything but studying

The forums are dead because everyone is at school, work and there is nothing interesting happening now.

Unlike most Xbox and GC fansd most PS2 owners are spending thier freetime playing games
and then there is the school thing and numerous other reasons
A year ago nobody but japan had PS2\'s and everyone spent alot of their time being excited about the launch of the machine and talking about the possibilities to come

I\'ve notice that it slowed down a bit but you still see the hard-core gamers still posting. It\'s fun in here! I\'ve haven\'t seen anybody from Hawaii post in here yet since I\'ve been in here. This month I make 1 year!! :D

Maybe alot of people are playing Silent Hill 2, and ICO. Remember when GT3 came out, the forums were dead then too. Just wait until Metal Gear and Final Fantasy come out.

Do you know how many games that will add up to?
That\'s 24 games a year, and over 5 years that\'s 105 games :eek:.

hell i am finally back to posting
i think most of the people that left for school will start to head back pretty soon as they will start to see its not as bad as they thought
i was gone most of the summer because of my gf taking up time and plus hanging out with friends took up all my time
but now school is started so i dont see her as much
so now i have you guys again - and like videoholic and some others i like off topic the most and hardly post her although i read stuff here

Last year around this time, as Ddaryl mentioned, the American and UK gamers didn\'t have PS2\'s, well, \'cept people who imported one. So , everyone came to the boards and was just totally excited and we had these dumb threads like a huge countdown..
Now\'a\'days that just isn\'t anything to get excited about. I can\'t think of any decent games (in my opinion) that have came out in quite sometime. Infact, this is the first month in the longest time that I haven\'t bought two or three games. No wait, I did buy four games this month, I went and bought some old SNES games....;)
Another reason the boards are so quite is because a lot of us had to slow down to personal reasons. Quite a few are slowed down due to school. I personally can\'t post near as much because of 12 hour work shifts (Ugh! Damn them!).
This happens though, the board will get a lot of posts and then slow down. It also never fails that someone will post a thread like this..;) Just remember, "Off-Topic" is alive and well and rarely ever slows down , which is totally opposite of what it was like last year at this time.

How many times have you been told not to complain about other forums around here? We don\'t need other forums getting pissed off and coming over here and starting trouble. I understand if you don\'t like the TeamXbox forums, but quit mentioning them in such a way over here.
Sheesh.
By the way - you are posting here and you said "PEACEFUL", I don\'t think it is very "peaceful" to say "****ing dumb ass morons" about another forum, now is it?

It´s not so easy to fully understand what this place is, because it´s so diff. to all the other boards and that´s what makes it a great place !!! Even if you leave for a time, you always will come back ! :D

yea come back if you can remember your password lol
i dont remember how many times i have seen people come back and been under another name to ask SG or MM for their password
the funny thing is most of the time once they get the password and name back they dont post :p
