Well, with todays technologies, video games are getting more real everyday. Take for example, Max Payne. THat is one real looking game. I mean, look at the skin and gun textures and crap. It looks super real. Do you find this a problem in the future? I could see where sports games and realism would be a plus, that makes sense. Do you think that game realism in Max Payne or MGS2 will increase violence that is "caused" by video games? I for one dont care, I will never think that movies or games have effects on violence, but not everybody works the same way that I do. I hope that games dont get too real though. I think that the point of video games are to take you into a different world, unreal to ours. I dont know, this is a tricky topic i must say, wht do you think will happen in the future?

for one i think the graphics are getting extremly presice and more perfect andi can see where people could have i deas about violance in game like for example, silent hill 2 if we have this game and bring it out into a more life like experience, then people will be more discusted or repulsed. i think the more real it get the more like a movie you can interact with and some movies a really bad and gory
and seconedly i think the violence is not cause but video games or movies at all, to me i see the violence come from where that person has grown up with or around, but these people really have to be messed up in the head to inflict damage on a person or animal

Everytime I hear that max paine is graficly impressive I think about all the pictures of him and how he looks constipated and I am not that impressed.

I was fearing that video games would become too real. As u said thats what theyre for, to take u out of reality. If they were that real I dont see the fun in them.

I think video games are to blame for the attacks one the Pentagon, and WTC. Just like how video games were responsible for Columbine. Videogames, and Marilyn Manson are to blame.

your full of sh*t

If anything..I welcome more realism! Of course that usually goes hand and hand with violence in vid-games..but o-twell...If ppl are too stupid to distinguish what they do in vid-games and what they do in real life..they are idiots anyway.
At the sametime, I also welcome more realism in fantasy games if that makes any sense. For example..make me believe Ken and Ryu can throw fireballs out of their palms :D

I like realism. I wanna play a Mortal Kombat that can show all the guys flying out, realistic blood, etc. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, that would be saaaaaaaaaaaweeeeeeet.
-
yeah i know i don\'t think th graphics are that good now but when they get life like that will just amke games look crap
-
i don\'t think it is realisitic now, but maybe in 10 years, it would be :D

if you can\'t see the difference between a game and reality, you have a problem somewhere in your head.
not all game are problem.
like resident evil:code veronica x
i\'m not sure somebody after playing that game will run in his school and shoot all zombie (...)
i\'m not sure that a 6 year old boy will electrocute someone because he was thinking to be pikachu.
it\'s in your head.

No.

I think they\'ll stop enhancing graphics when the real time looks like the FF movie.

No matter how real they look they still wont be real and will accomplish the objective of taking you out of reality. No matter how far we progress it still wont be the real world, thus, you will be able to do things you can\'t do in real life, therfore, the better it looks the more satisfying, although, gameplay will always reign supreme as the most important factor in a game. I say bring on the future and stop blaming societies problems on games, blame them on the parents. If your child can\'t handle a game don\'t give it to him, don\'t act innocent and blame games and movies. I think that eventually come the time it would be cool to experience a game in the eyes of the hero rather that controling him like we do now.

When it\'s photorealistic interactive games. Not myst type crap. But FPS, Fighters etc. then it\'s too real.
Till then, Carry on.

Doom III will come quite close to being perfect in realistic graphics. But there goes the money - it barely runs with a computer accelerated with GeForce 3!
Remembering the hellish atmosphere of the first Doom, it will be too frightening to play anyway...
But, yes, graphics are becoming very realistic. Look at GT3. Then the replay. My father walked behind me when I was watching replay from a race in GT3 and asked what TV-channel I was watching. I told him it was a game - and when he looked the screen longer, he then realized.
"But it looked so real when quickly peeked at!"
