I would make this a poll, but I don\'t think the results would really be fair because this is a PS2 board. Anyways, who do you think has the best first party?
I think that right now Sony has the best first party. This year they have been releasing some amazing games about every month.
GT3
ICO
TMB
WipEout Fusion
Dark Cloud
Jack and Daxter
Sky Gunner
Everybody\'s Golf
Okage
(Plus quite a few more)
I think the thing that Nintendo is known for (no, not being kiddie, but having a great first party) isn\'t going to save it this time around if Sony keeps doing what they\'re doing now. The other companies have a good first party too, but Sony beats them hands down IMO.
Who do you think has the best first party?
-
id go with sega but the dreamcast is dead...cant go with nintendo cause so far theyve been dissapointing...and well sony just released ICO and that game alone is enough to get my vote.
i wonder if the xbox first party will be any good come november.
-
I would have to say SONY !
thats mainly due to the Highly Superb
Dark Cloud !
Damn you SONY
i am Loseing Sleep playing this :(
Bad Sony BAD ! :(
Also GT3 and the others make this the mainreason why me and miss Money Penny are playing nothing other than PS2.

SONYS first party looks really nice..
SEGA had a really nice lineup with the DC..
But if we\'re gonna compare consoles that are alive and kicking..
Here\'s my list..
1. PS2
2. GC
3. My grandmother
4. My cat
5. Xbox
:p
-
I think SONY beats anyone at this moment,
i\'m very pleased with recent game releases, etc...
i keep playing lot of PS2 games, and don\'t even have a burning desire to buy an XBox or GC... i guess SONY owns my $$$
-
I would definently have to say SONY at this time
-
well i would hope you all say sony
i mean they have tons of games out since they have a year ahead - a year from now compare the xbox/GC 1st party games - then it will be fair really
just saying :D

Microsoft...easily. For anyone that ever played some of the big named PC games, MS has some large weight.
They have Microsoft themselves who makes pretty above average games, nothing too great, but they don\'t suck by any means.
and Peter Molyneaux\'s have dozen teams...WOWZAs!
and Bungie too :)
I would say Sega, but Dreamcast is fading and they are 3rd party now.

I agree, except I said PS2 because I have played some of those games out, I wont say the xbox till I play some of those first party games, but theres no doubt that they are gonna be atleast decent

Sony\'s done a great job proving they can hang with the likes of Nintendo
Add The Getaway and Dropship to the list of potentially great Sony 1st party titles
MS hasn\'t shown anyone anything yet
-
Tell me this how has sony shown they can hang with nintendo? Nintendo barely has any games out so that makes no sense. And sony puts out 3 good titles and now they are first party god.
ico
gt 3
tmb
Yeah I guess some ppl are easily won over. They are doing better than they have in the past but they still have not shown that they are in nintendo\'s league.
-
I was kind of hoping that we\'d see a reply like this. :)
No honestly, what does it take to be in the same league as Nintendo? I honestly don\'t know, but from what I\'ve seen and played on Nintendo consoles (I owned the SNES and played a lot the N64), I don\'t see why Sony isn\'t just as good.
Back to the thread, I have to agree that Sony has got the best first party at the moment. I haven\'t seen any of the GC first party titles yet, but from what I\'ve heard, there\'s another Mario game in development... sounds very cool.
However, ICO has suprised me, GT3 by all means the best racing game I\'ve played and TMB is a lot of fun. But the list grows and grows with future releases:
Wipeout Fusion, Dropship, The Getaway, Jak & Daxter....
I guess this debate is really based upon opinions, but I just don\'t get it when every Nintendo loyalist here and there says that Nintendo still makes the best first party games. I\'m sorry, but I just don\'t see it. Maybe I slept through those days, but judging from this point of time, I think Nintendo just lost it.

Those 3 titles right there are better than anything that I\'ve seen coming to the GC, and remember Jak and Daxter is also coming soon

All you have to say is pfft, I expected more from a GC fanboy or fan, Im not quite sure

I\'d score em
1. Sega
2. Sony
3. Nintendo
4. Microsoft
-
Sony is the best.
I\'ve NEVER really liked Nintendo. And Sega isnt first party anymore.
Sony is really starting too pot out top quality games.
The games I\'m playing at the moment have me totally hooked. I\'m losing sleep just like ooseven on Dark Cloud, and GT3.
Plus We\'ve got Twisted Metal Black and Wipeout Fusion being released in about a month here so it looks like I\'m going to be hooked on Sony games for a while
-
I think it\'s a tad bit premature to say that SONY has a better first party than Nintendo, although I have to admit that SONY has put out some very good games (especially Ape Escape).
-
I\'m a bit biased; but I still think Nintendo has a better first party. Once Sony shows more consistency that may change though. I say Nintendo is a better first party because they have been making AAA titles for years and Sony has only recently been consistent in the quality of their First Party titles.
-
Sony is doing lately a great job. Wait for J&D and Wipe Out :D
-
where\'s the variety in Nintendo\'s first party games?
