Title: Paris-Dakar not worth your time

Rented it today.  Ready to take it back today.

4 classes to choose from and about 4 vehicles each.  Only 1 of each vehicle is playable at the beginning.[list=1]

• 4WD
• Motorbike
• Buggy
• ATV
[/list=1] Motorbike sux.  Buggy not much better.  4WD is playable.  Didn\'t even try ATV.

Music is good.  Graphics so-so.  LOAD TIMES ARE DISGUSTING.

Don\'t rent
Don\'t buy

Thanks EmperorRob.  I\'m fairly much a racing game freak...but I hate to have to turn into a hunchback due to fury of a poor game.  Appreciate the heads up.  Seems I remember previews indicating much the same points...of course, the previews were holding out with that time-honored point: "...but this is still only the beta and 80% complete so the developers still have time to \'fix\' these flaws..."  Yeah, right!  So much for Paris-Dakar... :(

It was a toss-up between that and Gadget Racers, which is probably also gay.

Dave Mirra?  Only in a demo.  Never seem to get "bike" physics right IMO.  Always seems like the bikes just "pivot" left/right/etc.  Doesn\'t seem to matter whether its actually bikes or motorcycles...they just seem to react weird in action.  Not my bag I\'m afraid...but ATV Fury was a blast!:D

well i did warn people about paris dakar rally when it came out......guess no one listened to me though...oh well


ive played dave mirra 2........i got it... its so good.....im really enjoying it, its a lot harder than tony hawks ...as in objectives are harder, and the levels are somuch bigger....... this game rocks

Thanks EmperorRob, I almost bought it yesterday but I decided to wait till next weekend because of a little problem,  $$:D. I was also thinking in NHL 2002 or Formula 1 2002.
