Here\'s the situation, I am a SFC and first squad leader of our drill team and we were asked to raise the flag at our high-school\'s homecoming game. So we go out there, do our thing, and as we were marching back a few african american students from the other team were yelling crap at us, so this one kid gets a bright idea and says back "Shut up n******." After we get back to the room I sort of take him off to the side and tell him that if he ever does that again I will report him directly to the SAI of our school, among other things.
Note that this kid pulls the same sh*t during our regular JROTC class and he has been warned about it. Now, to anybody who is in a leadership position in the military or ROTC program, was I too harsh on him, this really was the first time I had ever lost my cool about things of this nature.

Dood, Your a leader right.. If you are questioning yourself. You shouldn\'t be one. It\'s not hard to tell how that you did the right thing. Racism shouldn\'t be tolerated in any form.

Thanks. Its just that I was told to ease up on it a bit, though only I knew about the racist remark.
-
hmmm, calling some Arab towel head is racist too right?
-
Don\'t be too hard on him SoulGrind, everyone questions themself.
It\'s not the racism you should be worrying about. It\'s his insubbordination. Maybe next time he decides to break rank he\'ll open fire on somebody. See what I mean?
-
I don\'t think you were too harsh on him. Racism isn\'t that common anymore. Nowadays, races are mixed together and it no longer matters if you are black, white, asian, or any other race that I left out (sorry if I did). Calling someone something like that should never be tolerated. In my school I probably would get a hard suspension or even expelled for that. You definitly did the right thing.

your in ROTC? Now i get why you are so athiest :)
don\'t take it personally in anyway, BTW, just something i have observed.

::gives confused look::
I became an Atheist because of the rampant hipocracy and bullsh*tery inherent to every religion. What does ROTC have anything to do with that?
-
I think atheism is misused anyways.
I have faith. I DON\'T have religion. If denomination comes up in a conversation, it\'s easier for me to say I\'m an athiest than explain my much, much more complicated beliefs.
I dunno if it\'s the same for you, but that\'s how it is for me.
