World Rally Championship provides a fantastically realistic rally experience on PlayStation 2. Incorporating all aspects of the real World Rally Championship, the game includes 4 main modes and will deliver over 70 tracks all featured in the real 2001 FIA WRC rally stages.
The game sounds really good now..
I rememberd how people who were at E3 complaned about the steering..
I hope this problem is gone :)
Collin McRae killer?
Maybe.. Just maybe :D
-
thanks for that! :) this game is shapping up to be really good. I just hope it also delievers in the aspect of playability and control - graphically, I think this already looks better than GT3, which is always a good sign.
-
huh.. sorry for second post, but after seeing those images in full screne... this is a GT3 killer graphics wise.... wow, I hope it really turn out as good as it seems.. any know a release date in europe? (I think it\'s developed by SCE Liverpool, right?)
-
Whoa.. Did you read that "you can see several km" part?
Kick ass!!
I hope this game is all that I think it will be.. :D
Sony\'s first party devs are doing really good..
Im impressed!

I\'m not so sure it turns out good at all... I\'ve read that you only have 1 (ONE) car on the tracks at any given time (and that\'s you). What is this? Can you only race against the clock? sad really, but it seems like the info is correct, cuz i\'ve yet to see a pic of more than one car at once.

might be true... however if they do a good job, it will still be lots of fun. Just remember Colin McRae Rally... even though you were the only car on screen, it was somewhat darn realistic and fun aswell.
And yes, SCE Liverpool is former Psygnosis :) They rule.

Fluke, thats the whole point of ralying m8. The whole point of rallying is to get best
times point to point.. you get updated via split zones whether youre up or behind on the other drivers.
It makes up to a quite challenging game.. believe me.. when you got to claw back 6 seconds over 8 km, it\'s tough
Dont forget, this game has nasty cliff edges n stuff so you got to go maximum attack but with control.
This imho will be a very rewarding game experience. as many of you know, i\'m big into Rallying
and am certainly looking forward to this title. Fastson, the steering looks bang on now m8. just a bit of tweaking with gravity is all thats needed now.
I also remeber hearing that someone in America actually thought that ColinMcRae Rally was designed by sony
hehehe.. this stuff is real.. Colin McRae exists Rallying is one of the biggest spectator sports here in the UK
it gets telivised to over 100 countries and thats a massive audience..
And it travels to over 14 countries.. this stuff is big.
-
FluKe: Hehe.. Du som är Norsk borde ju veta något om rally!?
Ni har ju för fan en egen förare! :D

This game looks and sounds awesome, the latest Official PS2 Mag here in the UK has a massive DVD video of ingame footage, the graphics are almost real, I mean, squint a bit and you\'d swear it was real life, people who don\'t know you\'re playing a game will think you\'re watchin TV its that good. The incar view is also awesome, in some ways it looks more real than the external. The landscapes are truly awe inspiring. The preview in the actual mag said that if you\'re bombing along, the co-driver is shouting directions, then if you take a corner to fast and end up going off the edge of a cliff the co-driver starts screaming
I can\'t wait for this game, I\'m gonna need about £400 for October and November alone!!
GTA 3 26/10 £32.99
Crash Bandicoot 5 26/10 £36.99
Smugglers Run 2 26/10 £32.99

Tony Hawks 3 09/11 £32.99
Pro Evolution Soccer 16/11 £32.99
SSX Tricky 23/11 £34.99
WWF Smackdown 3 23/11 £36.99

That\'s how World Rally racing is. This is one of the most dangerous races in the world, where cliffs, boulders, animals and people become obstacles on the road. To have a large group of cars on the road would be suicidal. It\'s bad enough when one car has to deal with the weather and those obstacles I just mentioned.

Adan, thanks hun ;) :D
I downloaded some of those vids over at PS2Faction..
Sweden
Argentina
Great Britain.. (Stopped loading when it was 12% done)
Damn.. This game looks really nice..
That Sweden course impressed me..
One thing that Collin didn’t have was the choppers.. (WRC has them)
Good to see.. Looks like they have put in every little detail..
They even used Satellite images to make the levels as realistic as possible..
It would be cool if they transferred Kaz. Yamauchi to Liverpool and maybe he could make some adjustments..
We all know he\'s the master.. :fro:

I love rallying games and this just looks the dogs danglies....
one of the best features I reckon has got to be the draw distance...
reckon it\'ll be kewl to have a few drinks and then just drive like a loon to hear and have the co-pilot scream at you
bring it on

OMG I can\'t wait for this game. This will be perhaps the coolest game yet released for the PS2 in my opinion.
Unfortunately Rallying is virtually unknown in the United States. The only way to see television coverage of the WRC is on a cable network called Speedvision. They run a one-hour summary of each Rally about one month after the event is finished! Just this last weekend they broadcast the one-hour program on the Rally New Zealand, which has been over for many weeks! It\'s really frustrating, since there are so many hours and hours of coverage on the big networks given over to the idiotically boring NASCAR races every weekend.
OK, I guess US is not included in the FIA, so it makes some sense that US television networks would be hesitant to broadcast it with no american drivers or teams present. I wish they would give the american audience a little more credit. I have the same complaint about the horrible coverage of the Tour De France, which has been getting progressively worse and worse every year.
