Title: Dual Layer DVDs and new DVD (remote) drivers- software...
Post by: stark427 on October 14, 2001, 12:42:37 PM
Hello. :)
Anyone here who actually saw an improvment with this new software? Mostly on the Dual Layer DVDs problem...?

Also one more question....
Does region X really vanish the green effect with the scart connector?

Look at these Virgin megastore offers:

1. Ps2 + 1 Game + DVD Region X + Sony Remote  + 2 DVD movies (not everything u want)

2. Ps2 + 2 Games + vertical stand + Memory + 1 more Dual Shock

each 269 pounds.... Nice or Not????

thanx

I havnt really noticed much improvement since obtaining the remote ? .  Toy Story 1 & 2 both worked fine before i got the remote but i do have a problem with the movie End Of Days
( good old Arnold Swartzen&ham&egg&burger )
Damn thing wont read the second layer ?
I guess the only bonus i can see in buying the remote is that i dont have to worry about cables laying across the floor for people to trip over when im watching a movie .
Appart from that its pretty much the same as using your controler.
But i aint to worried about it ...........  the PS2 works fine with every other movie ive got and ive had no trouble with any of the hired movie\'s either .
Im hoping Sony will continue to keep upgrading the drivers for the DVD player .............progressive scan would be a very nice added feature if it can be done  .
I for one wouldnt mind buying a new driver\'s disc every 6 months or so if they can continue to keep improving the quility of the player .

there is one MAJOR Plus to it is that you can access easter eggs that you need a number code for like in Independance Day.

Title: hybrid laser
Post by: stark427 on October 15, 2001, 02:57:54 PM
I think that if ps2 has some probs is due to the fact that it has a hybrid laser. Which means, one laser for both cds and DVDs... not like most other players who have 2 lasers... anyway...
I have to buy ps2!
To tell u the truth, if ps2 played VCDs (I have plenty of them), I would have already bought it. But if that was the case, no one would buy a normal DVD player..... everyone would buy ps2 right?

Well call me crazy but I\'m mostly interested on some specific games, like Unreal 3, Soul Reaver 1 and 2 (the 1st is only on ps1 released???) , Unreal Tournament... etc...

really, what about Quake 1, 2 and Unreal? Have they been released for psx or ps2 ever?

And Unreal 2? Its will be awesome they say. You think we \'ll have a chance of getting it on ps2?
thanx
