Just today I did. I was buying a really cool fish at petsmart and (back to subject) saw a XBOX add on a Toys R\' Us window. I thought maybe they had a playable one. I started to jump when I saw they did, and there was nobody around it!!! So I ran to it, and played the only playable game, Munch\'s Oddesy. I was pretty disapointed with its graphics cuz I didn\'t see a difference of quality from PS2\'s, but the controller was so awesome. Its not as big as everyone says it is. I am 5\' 3" at the age of 14 and my hands fit it perfectly. No buttons are hard to reach, and the grip is perfect. It is, the best controller. Yep, I\'m going for XBOX this Christmas. Anyway, it was great, and not as big as everyone says it is.
Pros(I learned):
best contoller I held EVER
great anti-aliasing
looks really cool
high res graphics
Cons(stupid ones):
made of cheap plastic
the jewel doesn\'t light up or reflect like I thought it would

I played it, but I wouldn\'t say it sucked. It just wasnt all that great.
Edit: They should have chosen something better than munch to use for the demo units. Munchs Odyssey is hardly a crowd pleaser.

i havent played it, but I have held the controller. Very comfortable and it really puts truth to the fact that they worked with consumers to build the thing.
It isn\'t as good as the NiGHTS pad, no pad will ever match that one.

AB, could you post a pic of that knight pad or whatever.

behold, what the DC pad should\'ve been and what it was modeled after.
Best. Controller. Ever. Anyone I know who has used it for fighting games and 3D games will agree.

I haven\'t played the XBox but I have felt the controller at a demo setup. Vivi, you don\'t know what a controller is until you hold the GC controller. I held both within 1 hour. The XBox\'s was ok, but it was really big, I don\'t think there was really a need for the extra plasic side of it. While the GameCube Controller......It was so light, and confortable. Damn that thing was awesome! So confortable, the L & Rs were the best, they just griped it with huge percision. I\'m 5\'10 at 14 just so you know. All of the buttons on it were extremely easy to hit, they were right there, the Xboxes did not have a good as button layout as the GC controller, the GCs raised buttons and different sizes are great. The Z button (trigger), is not out of reach either, don\'t know why people make such a fuss about it. And I have huge hands, on the keyboard I can got an octave and 2-3+ extra notes, and my hands fit find on the controller. The yellow C stick on the GC controller was much easier to reach than the XBox\'s rehash copy of it. Since I really never play a PS2, that button layout on the PS1/2 controller is terrible for people who rarely play it, stupid shapes replace the A,B,X,Yect buttons with confusing circles, trianges and squares that are hard to memorize and eassy to forget. I must say the XBox controller was better than the PS1/2, but the Gamecube controller was the best.

JediMaster,
You don\'t say?
I never thought you\'d prefer something from Nintendo over something from M$ or Sony. You really surprised me there. :rolleyes:

Me neither, I\'m like... In shock... Really, look at me... I\'m speechless. Totally in shock here... Really, look! :eek:
... :p
Anyways, I\'ve played it several times. Controller is pretty spiffy IMO. Not the best, but it\'ll do. HALO and PGR played pretty good on it... I still want to try out the Japanese controller, been hearing some pretty good stuff about it.

I think we might be able to import a japanese controller, since Xbox isn\'t supposed to have a territory lockout feature. Lets hope we can do this.:p

Well I\'m European so playing the seX-Box will be quite difficult for me :(
However, I\'d like to play the thing, and the GameCube aswell, see I belong to a VERY rare bread of gamers that likes just about every console, we call ourselves non-biazians. We come from a wonderful place where all gamers like each other.....well enough rambling.

My opinion on the Xbox controller is that it\'s too bulky and the buttons are too small. They\'re also non-distinct, a problem (much like the N64\'s C-buttons) that should have been addressed.
Just wanted to add my two cents since some of you basically dismissed the valid opinions of someone else.
We come from a wonderful place where all gamers like each other.

Enjoy your stay. :)

yes, it\'s true. It really is a lonely place, that is why I visit here.

I\'ve held the Xbox controller and while it is comfortable, the buttons are way to small, like someone already mentioned. When I used them, all I could think of is how it was like the N64\'s "C-buttons". Also, why is there a "back" button? Oh and the D-PAD felt like crap.

Not in my opinion. I\'ve held the GameCube controller and played WaveRace with it, and still I consider the dual shock (2) being the best controller that I\'ve used until now. I don\'t like the back buttons (L1/R1?) and can\'t get used to the strange placement of the joystick (the one above the D-Pad).

Sorry i am not intrested, but i would be nice to see more systems on the MARKET !
MORE SYSTEMS = Greater Compentition = Better games = lower prices = happyer gamers :D
