The ad was a lot better than I expected. I especially liked the ending. I just wish they wouldn\'t use the "indigo" GC (it didn\'t look that bad in the MTV ad though).

You biased son o...
Oh, you actually liked it? ;]
I thought it was OK... I still liked the ones where that fat, bald dude was playing N64 games and acting all weird. He would make all the revving sounds when he played that F1 game. That was funny. I saw that guy on a show a month or two ago and told people where he was from. They were like, "You and him are the only two who remember that."
I think the magazine ads have been cooler so far. Whatever, so long as everyone buys it and Nintendo\'s stock keeps going up. :)

hahaha
funny...im not biased man...i just act like the character that youve all made me over the past month or so...
and yeah i liked the commercial...it was cool...in fact, all consoles have had pretty decent commercials i must say..
the DC had that chick being chased through the city and i thought i kicked ass...the PS2 has the PS9 commercial, and the XBOX has some weird sh!t too, some guy paiting x\'s all over the walls with this creepy feel to it....

Do you? I find that usually people have all sorts of problems with gaming commercials. To me I\'m just happy to see footage of games on my tv screen, but others have a weird, and harsh, judgment scale.
With a few exceptions (namely the early Crash Bandicoot ads, the screaming "SEGA!", and "you are not E"), ads are ads. Much like violence or stupidity, my culture has numbed me to them.

Trust me, don\'t.
This was the nicest, most readable post from you that I can remember.

It reminds me of the first PS2 commercial. Cool, but I think it\'s not the right way to try to change the Big N image.

The commercial is below Ok, its like a PS2 commercial, emphisizing on just showing cubes, there was a total of bout 5 seconds of games playing in cubes that distorted a picture. Should be better.
-
Seen this commercial on MTV I believe (some cable station). The only thing I like about this commercial, they showed at least a little gameplay. Other then that, seeing people in cubes, (epecially a naked guy in a cube) blah.
Still, better then some Nintendo commericals I have seen (like the N64 commerical that had a guy eat too much and litterally blow up. How the **** is that supposed to get me interested in the N64? More like grossing me out in order for me NOT to get the N64).

If you still remember that ad, then it was worth it. They got that one thirty second spot to stick in your mind for years. Something to be said for that, no?
Of course you\'re also associating it with a fat guy exploding, but what can you do... ;]

Guess I can\'t delete this one...

Just an ad that won\'t acheive its goal, and that being, getting me to plop down $200 (or whatever the N64 was at that point in time) and buy the system. If you want a memorable commercial, at least make it so that it will actually achieve its purpose. ;)

I liked how at the end, when they showed game footage, it was through the eyes of the gamer, now actually in the cube. And furthermore, it was very stylish how each of the internal facets or sides of the cube was like another monitor, displaying different GCN games. It was well done, how it went from facet to facet, displaying the various games being played.
