Title: Europe price and releasedate for the X-box

Xbox will launch March 14, 2002 for a price of 299 pounds (479 euros) games will be 69 euros or 50 pounds

Ok. 479 Euro equals 4800 Skr, that is about 300 Skr more than what the PS2 was when it launched here in Sweden. I´m not joking when i say that 4800 Skr is way to much for Sweden. The PS2 costs 3395 SKr in Sweden now.  The games wil lcosts about 700 SKr!! That is 200-300 Skr more than PS2 games. What is this MS???
They can´t sell any systems in Sweden if the price is this much.
I know I like Sony way more than MS, but this is not good news! It doesnt matter what console you like this is too much money.
I thought I was to bias in this matter so i checked up http://www.teamxbox.com and they actually thinks about the same as me. This is to much money to pay for a x-box. MS can´t compete with Sony and nintendo if the price is this high.
Thoughts?

damn, means no xbox for me after I bought my 699 guldens ps2 (199 pounds) :( It also means that xbox wont be a success here in holland like the ps2 was before the price drop

we dutch dont like paying much

I hope it drops fast though

wow.. that does seem like a lot of money. I wonder how fast Microsoft will realise this and drop the price.  Thanks for the info btw. :)

They still have some pretty good looking games coming out that the 3DO mostly lacked. But at a price higher then the PS2 is for Europe now...and the fact that this system will come out next year after Christmas (hmmmmmm...), and after all the great PS2 games for Christmas, doesn\'t help the Xbox one bit.
