Let\'s just say that was so. Would you get a GCN or an Xbox and why? I would get a GCN by far. The games are and will be better, IMO, it\'s $100 less, and Nintendo\'s been there from the start (not exactly from the start, but you know what I mean)!

I think it\'s pretty well known that I\'m getting a GCN. I\'m also not getting an Xbox.
It\'s too much money and like usual, Nintendo\'s exclusive games alone are enough to warrant my purchase. Only this time they\'ve even got like twice as much third party support as last gen.
Xbox has a few nice looking games, Project Ego really intrigues me, but for the amount of money I\'m spending on GCN, I won\'t have any left for the $300 system.

Xbox by a country mile and then some
I don\'t see much at all interesting on the GC (but I don\'t really care for most of Nintendo\'s 1st party stuff anyways) especially in comparison to the stuff in Xbox\'s future. Add in all the 3rd party support and the harddrive in Xbox which will allow for some creative gaming ideas and other positives and Xbox is just better for my needs
IMO and extra $100 for Xbox in comparison is well worth it

I can see where you\'re coming from. I don\'t really care for a hard drive, DVD player (already have one), or any of the other features Xbox has that the GC doesn\'t have. The thing that pulls me towards that Xbox are their promising 1st party games (I like Nintendo\'s a little more though) and their 3rd party support. I\'m hoping Nintendo will get a little more 3rd party support from Square and maybe Konami. I\'m also hoping that the GCN gers Dragon Warrior.

The harddrive will allow Xbox to have some deeper games do to the ability to cache and save larger amounts of game data. It will also allwo Xbox to have moretextures and stuff on hand to stream into its larger amount of memory again allowing for some cool games
Proect Ego would not be possible without the harddrive

If it wasn\'t for the PS2 i would get a X box at launch !
Sorry i am not one for holding out to see what the NGC can doo first.
but seeing that there are a heck of a lot of games that i want to buy and play for the PS2, this has been pushed back (late 2002 or mid 2003)
Sirry i have kind of lost most of my intrest in the NGC but if they start to release some AA games that i like i might get that insted

Well I have a PS2, and I\'m going to be getting a GC. So if the PS2 didn\'t exist I guess I\'d have to fill the void with an Xbox. So in closing, um... I\'ll take both. Yes indeed. :D

If the PS2 wouldn\'t exits, I\'d be getting a X-Box plain and simple. Since the SNES days, Nintendo just doesn\'t get me excited anymore, not to mention the launch in Japan of the GC just a few days ago. Since PS2 and X-Box are catering to the same audiance, with the PS2 missing, I\'d clearly get a X-Box to get those same type of games.

Well, if there was no PS2, then there would be no PSX. So the hype would be all over Dreamcast, so if there was Dreamcast up there, Id say Dreamcast. But it isnt, so I stick with XBOX.

If there was no PS2, I would probably get an X-Box. It looks much better than the GCN and a lot cooler.

i would go for xbox for sure
halo, doa3, PG, amped and Project ego are enough for me to buy one while Gc has only 1-2 exclusive games Im interested in (RG and RE remakes) So the decision is simple

Well, with/without a PS/XBox/DC I would still be getting a GCN. 1st party Nintendo titles have always been my favorite, with Sega\'s being number 2. I tend to hold most 3rd parties in contempt. They rarely pull of gameplay different from my favorite 1st party developers (in the genres that interest me) and even if they get the concepts right, usually the execution is lacking. There are exceptions, of course, Konami being one of them. GCN all the way. My 2nd next-gen purchase will be a PS2, sometime next year. I was interested in getting a DC, but financial issues prevented me from doing so, and I thank those problems now, because the DC just did not have enough titles to warrants the money spent. So far, after having seen ever XBox game running, some playable, some not, it has utterly utterly failed to grab my attention.

Hmmmm.......with me xbox. They would be getting mgsX(would be mgs2), silent hill X, doa3, project gothem, halo, RAW, a lot of sega games. Xbox is getting almost everything ps2 is getting so. It would be xbox all the way for me.:thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:

Looks, it\'s more powerful than NGC and ps2, built in hard-drive which obviously can eliminate load time and 4 controller ports which ps2 only have 2 and the same price tag of ps2 ($300). NGC isn\'t really that powerful when compare to XBOX, which have a year and a half longer than ps2 to built.
But beside graphics, the games look very promising too. DOA 3, Oddworld, Halo...

Anyways, I\'d still get NGC this fall and down the line I probably would of gotten a Xbox. I definitely wouldn\'t of sold my DC too.

I\'m gonna agree with SuupaBuu on this one. I think if the PS2 had never been announced and flat out didn\'t exist DC would be totally owning this generation, so that\'s where I\'d be spending my cash.

yep if I didnt have my PS2 Id still be with my DC and would wait to see how both the GC & Xbox got on for the first few months of there release

If PS2 didn\'t exist then theoretically the Dreamcast would be the top system out and Sega would still be in the hardware business, thus meaning all those games for XBox and GCN that are published by Sega would not be there... *Confused* I would probably get even more games for my DC (since it wouldn\'t be dead) and then I\'d buy a Gamecube eventually.

It\'s hard for me...I really like Nintendo 1st party games and X-Box seems so interesting,with great games coming out(Project Ego,Shenmue2,SegaGT 2002,Doom3,etc etc...bah...I don\'t know...

well i guess i would be all over xbox then
it just appeals to me more then gc right now - gc just isnt showing me lots of variety in games and lots of games period
xbox otoh is showing me tons of games and has many to look foward to

I agree, Nintendo\'s first party is great and no matter what people label games like Zelda and Mario they\'re still great games and worth buying a system for, IMO. Pikmin looks very promising with all the great reviews that its getting and the fact that it was maybe by the great Miyamoto is a reason to buy it in itself. I\'m not too much of a Dragon Warrior fan, but a lot of people are and I think that the GC will eventually get that. Also, I believe Square will eventually develop for Nintendo. Also, Nintendo\'s second parties look great with games like Eternal Darkness, etc.
