I have played it for about 30 minuets (had to go back to work) and it is awesome!! I have been on a few "jobs" and the first few are pretty easy (but fun). Like I said, I have not played it much bit so far my favorite parts have been:
1. Beating up the Pimps and Hookers!!! (you can smack around anyone on the street that you want; (if you get the bat then its mellon busting time!!!) You can even get money from the bludgeoned pimps and stuff. Wach out though, the hookers fight back!
2. Carjacking.....nuff said
3. Lots of adult language!!!!! And total violence!!!!
I really don\'t know how this game got released with all the Politically Correct Bull$hit going on in the U.S. these days. But BRAVO for ROCKSTAR GAMES!
4. The raidio commercials!!!! Man these are FUNNY!!!!
The one about the new SUV is the best, I think its about the new Mitsubishi Monstrosity, or something like that!
It has some dumb a$$ women talking about how they had a kid and need a new big SUV to take to the mall and $hit and htey need it to drive around and talk on their cell phones, and they don;t care that it get 3 MPG!!!!
It\'s really funny (and TRUE!)
Anyway, GO BUY THIS GAME!!!
It is one of the top 5 games on the system easy!! (could be #1)
Cant wait to play it more!!!!
only 1 more hour!!!!!

Still, if my mom walked in and heard a guy yell out A**hole as I\'m car jacking his car, she would get mad and make me return it. I\'ll probably just wait until GTA4 comes out. Chances are I\'ll be living on my own then. :)

this game is soooo sweet, it is everything you could hope for and more, but by far is running down the street with you trusty wooden bat cracking people over the head, and when there on the ground you can still beat the crap out of them its awsome, just don\'t smack the wrong guy or you will wind face up on the side walk, this game is soo quality! i love it!!

I agree, this game f\'ing rocks - I\'ve been playing for 4 hours straight since I got it. Man, there so much I want to mention but I don\'t want to give away any spoilers. This game is just ****ing unbelievable.

I got the last copy my toy\'s r us had at 2:45/ I promptly went home and played for seven hours straight, didn\'t even take NBA Street or NHL 2002 out of the wrapping. I opened up the second island in about 5 1/2 to 6 hours, then i just played around. I love the sniper rifle, but i need to find more rooftops. Right now I just shoot pimps and hookers outside sex club 7 until a police chopper comes and kills me. The copters have machine guns on them.

I will get the game this friday - and I\'m excited already!
Been a lover of the previous two games, and this one looks to be just one helluva better product.
ps2.ign.com gave it 9.6 if I remember right!

I played mine for about an hour. Only took two missions so far, did alot of messin around...hehe.
I stole a cop car and those dudes were all over me before I got out of the cop shop area. I jumped out of the car with no weapons. I beat a cop with my bare hands, got his gun and started wasting some of them. Then I ran out of bullets, pulled a mustafa out of his cab and took off!!
I wreaked the cab as it exploded while I was running away. (I love how the controller AND screen vibrate and shake when something explodes...VERY COOL!).
I ran through a tunnel to a dead end dock area. THEN a damn chopper came. I heard it coming and started looking (First person mode) for it in the sky. Right as I spotted it, I heard the cop in the chopper say "I see you scumbag!!" Then a hail of gunfire took my remaining life.....
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh.... I looked at the music credits in the back of the manual....
RUSH does two songs!!!!!!!!! (instrumentals)
..Can it get any better???? NOPE!

I think the coolest thing is that you have this living, breathing, absolutely MASSIVE city, where you can do anything you want, and then you stick in the scripted events that are part of the story.
I\'ll give you one example of one of the earlier missions, (SPOILER) - but not too much of a spoiler since I think it\'s only the 3rd mission which most people will get to in 15-20 minutes of play.

I got my orders from Luigi that some crack dealers have been selling some **** to his hoes, he\'s not to happy about it and he wants me to take them out. First I go to the back of the Ammu-nation to pick up a gun, and then I have to find those two (who are driving around the city) and kill them. I steal a cab and drive to the Ammu-nation gun store, get the gun, get back in my car, and look at the radar. The crack dealer\'s car is only a few blocks away, I start driving and I turn onto a major street, and I can see now from my radar that the crack dealers will be driving down the road a few hundred yards away that intersects the street. I slam my foot on the gas (or, ahem, my thumb on the X) and approach the intersection, sure enough they\'re begging to cross (it\'s a red light for me). Now my original plan was to pull up along side them and take \'em out drive-by style, but now I\'ve got another idea....it\'s a red light but I still haven\'t taken my finger off the accelerator. I swerve past a truck and almost lose control of the taxi, the crack dealers\' hot rod is just at the middle of the intersection before I run the red light and slam my taxi right into them. Both cars go spining and my car hits a truck and stops quickly. The crack dealer\'s car is on fire. Immediately I jump out of my car with my glock, the crack dealers slowly get out of theirs, but to my surprise they\'re armed too!! (I know what you\'re thinking, \'what did I expect?\') I manage take down the guy with the pump action shot gun, however the other has an Uzi and he won\'t leave the cover of the smoking car. He shoots me twice and my health is low, I run back to the cover of the big truck I hit before, but he\'s still spraying the lead and killing pedestrians too.
Suddenly I hear siren\'s in the background. Things go from bad, to worse. I figure I have to take this guy out NOW cause the cops will be on the scene any minute now. I step out from behind the truck, line up a shot and BOOOM!!! The crack dealer\'s car EXPLODES, taking the second guy with it!!! Once I raise my jaw from the floor, I throw the truck driver out of his truck and leave the scene pronto. Luckily I got away before the cops made it so they didn\'t chase me.
And that\'s just the 3rd mission.......
What a game.

This game is showing me how "wrong" I can be!!!
Like after picking up a hooker (to regain my health meter)
And ducking into an alley with her to get it on. After nailing her 2 times, she gets out of the truck and so do I....
Then I beat her to death with the baseball bat!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, thats just wrong!!!! LOL!
You people have NOOOOO idea how cool this game is.

Hate to break it to your ignorant/racist ass, but those \'towel heads\' in the cabs are actually Sikh, NOT Muslim, and they don\'t come from anywhere NEAR the Middle East. I know it\'s just a videogame, but I\'m just letting you know incase you decide to hurl some choice insults toward some Sikh Americans in real life (or beat them up as some fine, upstanding, Canadians and Americans have been doing).

j/k I know it\'s a free country and all, but I have met some real nice "towel heads." In my experiences they can be real a$$holes or real talkative & nice. Sorry to generalize but just stating what I\'ve noticed.
Oh and GTA3 rocks!!! Love how they included the ol school overhead view. This will definitely tide me over till MGS2.

ah man, ah man, ah man, im screwed, as if it wasn\'t bad enough having the cops after you. after comepleting tonys seconed mission (blowing up the laundry trucks) the triads came after me, now i can\'t even go through china town without getting shot at, AW MAN THIS GAME ROCKS!!
and i did a rampage mission with the ak-47 got on top a roof and used the aiming thing to pick everyone off, oh boy then cops came started blasting them away. it gets better, sense the rampages give you unlimited ammo for a period of time i had no reason to panic when the choppers came so i blew them away, i got 2 before my time ran out! then i tried to use my uzi to get the cops on the groung but my stupid a$$ fell of the roof, i was dead the moment i got up from the ground!
GOD DAMN THIS GAME IS AWSOME!!

GMan, it seems a lot of Muslim looking like people have done a lot of things against you. If not then you should be shutting your mouth. Just because you find them annoying and smelly, doesn\'t mean you have to dislike them with a PASSION, in other words: HATE. But if you have them constantly ruining your life, I see where you could formulate such an opinion, but if you feel like that JUST for the hell of it, then you seriously must have many other annoyances in life.

I just got this game today too and like all of you guys I think that it\'s friggin awesome but I do have a couple questions for you guys. Can you actually do drivebys and stay in your car and shoot people. And number 2 how do you pickup hookers and get them to give you health..? Thanks for the tips and game on.

What perspective is best???
Is it better in the traditional, look down from above view from the previous GTA\'s or the First person view?? Or is it third person

I got the game 2 days ago, but I was too busy playing to post anything! THIS GAME ROCKS!! The coolest car I\'ve found in the first section so far is the Banshee in the car dealership. I found that you can drive it by accident when a cop chased me through the plate glass windows. Oh, and personally, I like the 3rd person view the best, Vulcan Raven.

But, like I said, for the store-owners sake, the game is better to be on the shelves at this friday. Better to be, or else I will car-jack a cab, get my uzi, and start blasting all over....

Yeah, thats what I thought.
Anyway Darkchimp, You CAN do drive by\'s on anyone, just have the uzzi equiped and press R-2 (I think; or maybe R-1) and Circle to shoot. You will NEED to master this for a few upcoming missions, otherwise you wil end up doing things the hard way.
And to pick up hookers, just drive up close to them and stop the car. They will come up to the car and act like they are talking to you. after a few seconds they will get in. You have to drive them around to a secluded alley and stop the car (the hideout alley works good) and after a few seconds the car will begin to roock and squeek. It gets faster and your health goes up. Before it stops back up and go forward again to keep her in the car for another go. You can get a max of 125 Health points this way.
If she gets out, just go get another one.

Weeeeell, Vulcan, yours is a fairly loaded question seeing as its gonna be completely a matter of personal taste... But IMO I\'m diggin\' the $hit outta this game in its 3rd person view (behind the car/man). Gotta camera "look" feature with your right joystick which allows you to "flip" into 1st person when your running around. But at the same time...I\'m extremely happy that they kept the "from the sky/down" view. With all the 3D depth its pretty wicked that way too -- except -- I find it much easier to accidentally fall off stairs, roofs, etc. from that perspective (guess the 3D is throwing me somewhat). But honest to God, either way this is a KiCkAs$ game!!!
