Sounds awesome I will have to pick this game up this dec.  The graphics actual seems alittle better and thats saying a lot considering how good the ps2 version looked.  Sweet!!!!! Maria is playable as well.:thepimp: :clown: :thepimp:

I still surprised that konami is adding another 3-6 hours of gameplay in.  Awesome Silent Hill X!!!!!!:thepimp: :thepimp:

Your saying those pics look better than the ps2 version.... well, either youve seen some differents pics or ur messed, those pics dont even come close to the graphics of ps2\'s SH, im not saying they never will look as good, or better for that matter, because this game is still in development.

I\'d like too see a pic from the PS2 version and the Xbox version side by side cause I cant tell the difference like that. It looks exactly the same

LOOKS like just another tipical port too me. I hate games that are just ported over. And I agree the characters models suck in this game.

How does 4-6 hrs added gameplay make the game a port? And the ability to play as Maria, that wasn\'t in SH2 on PS2, so how exactly is this a port?

Strange, I was at a business event yesterday and was able to speak to a few developers and also some high up folks from EA as well as Konami. As it seems, the X-Box has a remarkable "lower" pixelfillrate than the PS2 has (apparently, the numbers that Microsoft is publishing are wrong). This might be a reason, why there is no "grain" effect in the X-Box version of Silent Hill 2.

And before anyone starts, no, the PS2 doesn\'t use this effect to lower the quality of the textures. If you play through the game, you can switch of the grain effect.

Take what you want with this info. This has been said by EA and Konami also said something in that direction.
