Yep. House of the Dead. From its gruesome and detailed graphics to this cel-shaded junk. Cel-shaded is the way to go right?

A flashback. Who in their right mind would prefer the cel-shaded pos?
Maybe Panzer will go the cel-shaded route too.

iich...
looks horrible.
It looks like they did cut some months in developement time.. ;)
-
God that is awful looking. I mean, that is just really really bad. What the hell is up with this Cel-shading trend?
-
ugly!....
-
What the **** is up with those cel-shaded games, they look like ****
-
I think it looks cool. IMO, that bottom picture looks like trash compared to the top pic. But the important question is, how does it play?
-
some cell shaded games are cool, like Jet Grind Radio but I agree that it simply doesn\'t fit this game at all...

It looks cleaner, but it isnt even scary
-
They are making two game of house of the dead, one is the cel-shaded look, and the other one follows the movie that is being made, so i think that will be more like HoTD2, which i have to say is one of my fav game, my DC got so much use with that game.

Ssshh.. Datamage is right here. Cell shading should have a purpose. It should be done for a legit reason, now this games gets as scary as a scooby doo episode:rolleyes:
Devs wanna make fast cash and think they can get away with it by just throwing in a default plugin visual effect like cell shading.
Miyamoto is right about the new Zelda game, in that it goes back to its roots by the cell shading, but this move on House of the Dead is just a crime !
Come on Sega, you don\'t wanna loose you\'re innovative rep would you ? This is just slackin\'.

Cel-o-rific  well, maybe not... Some games are just at home with it, but some games, just feel weird.. at leasting looking at them... game play might be fine though...
-
I didn\'t know this was supposed to be a scary game. If that\'s the case, then cel shading was a bad choice by the developers. But it still could be a very fun arcade shooting game.
-
Hmm.. The cel-shading looks good, but it lost the "scarriness" and "horror" feel to it. Now it looks like cool evil characters walking retarded.
-
Well the game has lost the whole scary appeal bye going cel-shaded. So why should I play this one?

Hmmm, I don\'t know, maybe because it will be fun?! ;)
-
Doesn\'t even look like cel-shading to me, more like weird-ass polygons. Anyways, the look is nice, but doesn\'t suit the theme. Can\'t developers just leave some things alone?

uhhhhhhhh..............those graphics suck!!!!!!!! I mean that looks like a n64 game or something. What\'s up with the low-poly count in the characters!!?!?!? I having second thoughts about this cel-shaded mess.:thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:
Now what possible intelligent reason could you have for quoting pictures . removed sed pics: - ddaryl

not really due to the lighting and cell shading the raw polygons stand out more than in a normal game. I sense a fakeness in those screens, I dont know what but someting seems to be wrong . They are just too "Clean"
-
you guys ever glance at that "Heart of the City" comic in the Sunday funnies?
Some kid walks in all \'nigt of the living dead-style\' and says, "Can\'t you see I\'m a zombie from The House of the Dead?"
or something like that.
Pretty slick, eh?
on another note - this game doesn\'t look good, at all.

I am so very not amused....
**** you Sega!
Thanks...
-
it wouldnt be soo bad if done correctly
the polys are very low though and i bet this can be canceled if they see what every thinks of it
thats just me hoping though - because i rather the old style much more

Yes, I agree with you about the new Celda game. It looks so much like A Link to the Past type game in 3D, something that either N64 Zelda (while still awesome games) could not claim to be.
As far as using Cel Shading as a cash-in gimmick, I am not too sure. According to a recent interview with ATI personel (in regards to GCN\'s Flipper GPU) Cel Shading is actually more complex and more difficult to expertly implement than "regular" 3D. Something about more complex geometry algorithms or something... *shrugs*
