Title: GameCube Clone....Already!

I saw this picture on Yahoo! today, it looks like Nintendo decided to license out the GameCube to Panasonic to make a clone. It\'s a hybrid DVD player/GameCube that came out in Toyko today.

I have not seen it, well I also did not pay much attention to Gamcube untill just recently when I decided to pick one up for my sister.

like they said above. its been known for months already. Nintendo and Panasonic teamed up to make that. it plays DVDs, VCDs, music CDs, and GameCube games.

it kinda looks like a toaster oven or microwave. but i like that luminated controller port area. i also dont like how they had the top stick up. they should of put it on the front. they started taking preorders for it already in japan. its going for like $328 i think or somewhere in the $300 mark

I wish MS would of just been themselves and stole the Dual Shock design as well. Then at least all 3 consoles would have a really good controller

It\'s not a PS2 with a $200 game system with a 100 dollar DVD player. It\'s an system by Panasonic to please the Japanese with a high-end $350 Progressive Scan High Definition DVD player with the GameCube as an addon, all in one nice package.

1) Thanks for posting this Kirath. I can\'t afford a CG (with MGS2 and FFX), so it\'s irrelevant to me, but if I could, since I have a good DVD player, and my PS2 (on another tv), I would probably go with a normal one. I\'d think most people who have a PS2, even if the DVD quality is inferior, wouldn\'t shell out for the fancy GC.

2) Just because you have seen it, and it\'s old news, it doesn\'t mean it\'s a bad post. This is the only thread on the main forum about this, so for those of us who haven\'t seen it, it was interesting. Don\'t tear into people just cause they post something you know. *cough cough* (Ethan, bandit, stevefox, pstwo, ajoh)
