Title: DVD & CD On the PS2
Post by: DMCL on November 04, 2001, 09:37:05 AM
I\'m considering getting my son a PS2 and was wondering how good it is at it\'s other functions of playing DVD\'s and CD\'s.

It\'s well worth the money! The CD\'s work perfect and so do DVD\'s. Just get a DVD-rom cleaner with it and you\'ll be fine. (Im sure your son will love you forever if you buy MGS2 with it) ;)

Early ones had some problems (rare though), and the newer ones seem to be fine.  Just run your PS2 in horizontal mode, and keep it clean.  The DVD quality isn\'t amazing, but then again, it\'s what I use to watch DVDs in my TV room, and I\'m perfectly happy with it.  Get FFX or MGS2 with the PS2, and you have the best games/system avaiable, and the bonus of a DVD/CD player!

My DVD feature is pretty much screwed. It doesn\'t play DVD\'s with scratches on em.. Even though it is the most eensy weensy teensy little scratch it won\'t work.. But playing games, absolutely fine. :)
