Damn, one of my Dualshock 2 pads died on me. I bought this one just from November last year. And I\'m a person who takes really good care of his stuff. I noticed it when playing MGS. Suddenly it started skipping cutscenes for no reason. First I thought the disc was dirty; it wasn\'t. I found out the Dualshock 2 was malfunctioning and sending unauthorised x button signals to the PS2. Then a little green man crawled out of the Dualshock 2, and he started laughing in my face.....
you still readin\' ? LOL.
No serious. The control pad just lasted 11 months. I should get a refund from Sony. hmmm, maybe the little green man was Bill Gates ...???
Did any of you ppl have such crappy expierence with a Dualshock 2 ?

Mine is about a year old and still working just fine - however, the grip of the hats have loosened ( due to use, perhaps ).
Quess you just had bad luck ( or exceptionally strong hands ;) )

Now I will spank you with a tea spoon for punishment !

Maybe your mom accidentally rammed it against the wall while she was vaccuuming your room. :(
Or you could have stepped on it when you were going to the bathroom at night without knowing.
Just some possibilities.

Maybe a small mouse came at night and bit off the cord..
