The first game is..................madden 2002.

It did pretty good.............so far the best version of madden 2002 so far. Impressive........

The Xbox version got an 8.6 while the PS2 version got a 9.2
How does that make the Xbox version the best version so far?

I gotta agree with you Gohan, how is the Xbox version better? The graphics don\'t look better then they already do on PS2, the gameplay is EXACTLY like Madden 2k2 for PS2, oh, it seems the sound is the only thing that is much improved? Rast, I\'m sorry, but there is no way in hell that this game is any better then the PS2 version, IMO, its just a carbon copy of the PS2 version, with VERY SMALL enhancements. So, how\'s Fever doing? Correct me if i am wrong, but the PS2 version and Xbox version are the EXACT same. If you compare screens of each console version, you can clearly see that they are identical.

I\'ll take this review, especially by Madden being better on X-Box with a grain of salt. Naturally, a X-Box site will point out those little small enhancements made in the X-Box version and try to prove a point by that as in, "hey because it\'s done on X-Box". Note also that it scored a 8 in graphics, where as ps2.ign gave the PS2 version a 9.2. I wonder how much that "8" in graphics for the X-box version is justified, or if they only gave that 8 because it\'s equal to the PS2 version and expected more from the X-Box hardware/developers. Thoughts?

Well...........its alittle better than the ps2 version, but the reason it proably didn\'t get as high as the ps2 version. Cause the expection went up from ps2 to xbox. So they may expect alittle more from the xbox version.:thepimp: :thepimp:

Especially when you contradict yourself in your post.
If it has enhancements, no matter how small or large they may be, it is BETTER! enhancements = better.
They said the graphics were a tad better than PS2\'s Madden, but they rated it lower, that makes NO sense!!!
Yes, this game is better.

Given its devolpement cycle was shorter then the PS2 version. I\'m assuming quite a bit here, but wasn\'t the game put together in like 10 months?? Still though, I\'m gunna stick with the NFL 2K series, because if you\'ve seen NFL 2K2 on PS2, you\'d be shocked to know, Sega isn\'t having any problems with the PS2 hardware.

...which brings me to my point: aren\'t people expecting too much from X-Box? It\'s not 3 or 4 times more powerful than PS2. It should have, but it isn\'t.

I think the problem is, is that if the game was built from the ground up, to take advantage of the Xbox, then it would improve big time,but what with it just being ported over, it was built to take advantage of the PS2.:D

yeah maybe... but then again, a lot of games don\'t look noticably better. I don\'t know if Madden was just ported over though, but if it was, how big is the chance that other ports (and X-Box has many) won\'t take advantage of the X-Box architecture? Ports might be good to get quality software there, but ports like these can\'t be too good either.
And most of the big games for X-box are "just" PS2 ports.

I\'m no Xbox fan but jeez....wasn\'t the game was reviewed by different people? I didn\'t read who the author was so I\'m guessing the opinions on the PS2 side is a bit more forgiving than their Xbox counterparts.
In short : opinions vary. Even on the same game.

NFL2K series is definetly better, but Madden is better on X-Box than it is on PS2. They say so in the review, indirectly of course, but it is there.
I cannot wait to see what NFL2K2 looks like on X-Box, knowing that the PS2 version looks awesome!
