Title: Initial Gamecube Impressions
Post by: Eiksirf on November 06, 2001, 12:41:52 PM
I had the chance to try out GCN for the first time, and thought I\'d be a trooper and share the experience with you guys.

You can read about it here: http://www.ngenres.com/puzzles/editorials/6.html.

Since I also briefly played Oddworld on Xbox, I\'ll say that for what it was it was OK, but the little bit of running and hopping I did, collecting orbs, wasn\'t that great.  I didn\'t really get the controls right, and every so often I had to turn back to get orbs I should have gotten already...

Anyway, check out my GCN impressions, too.  I think they turned out pretty objective.

Good impressions.  About the controller, that\'s exactly what I\'ve heard from everyone else.  The controller is extremely comfortable, but that Z button is way out of place.  It\'s too bad Nintendo couldn\'t find a better place to put it.

So will LM have any replay value?  From what I\'ve heard, it gets old quick.  What do you think?

Thanks.

And I don\'t know.  I imagine myself beating it once, then probably beating it again, but then losing all interest in it in favor of the other games I\'ll own.

By itself I can\'t really say, though.  After all, I only played for like 10 minutes.

I\'m going to try and find it sometime this week so I can try it out.  I heard that Nintendo is charging $2000 for the kiosks to be in each store (while Sony and Microsoft give them away for free), so I might have a hard time finding one.  Maybe when I go to Babbages tomorrow they will have one.
