I got my ps2 2nd hand from my boss\'s daughter.-no manual

what\'s up with disc speed and texture smoothing?

I didn\'t really notice a difference toggling between them.

It´s only for PS1 Games !
If you turn it on, you might notice, that the textures are a bit smoother and that the game loads faster... that´s all...

IF IN DOUBT... ASK ! :D

It doesn\'t work on all games, typically older ones.

Legend of mana with either is bad.  Textures really screw up the game, and speed makes the menu music and stuff go at 4x speed!

FF7 and FF8 seem ok with speed, but textures improve parts of the game, and leave little lines over other parts (like the battle screen in FF7)

Playing MGS with the \'texture smooth on\' is nice. However, don\'t
turn on the higher disk speed because during loading the game will \'forget\' some texures occasionally ; Snake with a hole in his body ! LOL
