Ok first thing is the mag is OK but nearly all the demos are timed. Very anonying but least they give you an insit.
Silent Hill 2: It looks good. I notice that the menu and such flicker alot. The most anonying thing though was some slight jumps in that nice video where James (thats his name I think?) looks in the mirror. This is clearly a PAL conversion problem. Won\'t be fixed probably for the final release but seems like a good game all the same.
Graphics take a little to get used too. Demo didn\'t show much but im sure this game will be decent.
Wipeout Fusion: Bit disapointed to be honest. Seems a little boring. Its fast but loads of jaggies and the loading time is very long. Hopefully ill be supprised when the final game is released.
Airblade: Seems fairly good. Nice graphics and minimal slowdown. Gameplay seems fun but I can see it being nothing more than a fun game - a bit like Trickstyle really, fun but not amazing.
WRC: Didn\'t like it. Thats just my opinion. Im not a rally fan but this game does feel a bit like the car isn\'t really on the road. Im not really the one to judge this game but I simply didn\'t like it.
Baulders Gate: Presentation = super. Graphics are slick and the game runs very smooth with no slowdown - although essentially it is an isometric game so it can\'t have much processing power involved. Seems a little boring in the demo, hitting crates and hitting rats but clearly the game has more than this. This should be a great game.
Dark Cloud: It seems OK I suppose. Probably better games out even in the PAL region.

WipeOut and Baldurs gate boring? mmm... I think your demos are quite old and bad... Just my Opinion too :p

Ok well maybe. I see where your coming from.
With my Baulders Gate demo all you do it walk around a few rooms hitting rats and casting spells. You have about a minute to play so this clearly doesn\'t reflect what the final game will be like.
Wipeout Fusion is just one track. Seems decent enough but I wasn\'t overly impressed. Each installment of Wipeout tends to bring new graphics, new style etc. Although the demo was really limited.

yes mate, that´s one of the problems of demos, they include game that are not finished and the first impressions in the people is just the same as you friend. Companies should forbid to include unfinished games into demo disks.

Yeah I know what you mean. It can actually work against them. Say in Silent Hill 2. No monsters just walking across a few screens etc, slow video, and nothing to do. Now I know it will be good but some people may see that and be put off by the game.
Worse still is that it seems like its Sony\'s fault. All the games have that little bit of text at the end of the demo, like Airblade (SCEE), or something. They all look the same.
Its as though Sony check all the demos.
Also their was a message about how Silent Hill 2 may not work because its preview code or something along them lines. Well of course it works but that sounds like they are saying it may not work on some consoles. Whats all that about I don\'t know ? All consoles should be the same. However Konami\'s MGS2 demo didn\'t work on some people\'s PS2s. So prehaps Konami\'s Silent Hill 2 demo has the same problem. If it does then it means that mine can probably play the MGS2 demo (never got around to testing it) if it played the SH2 demo.
Still bad though. So yeah I agree demos should be in least some form or another. Timed demos are also a good way of putting people off.

Hey RichGUK, thanks for the impressions ! ;) I know, I find all PS2 demo discs poor quality. Especially the \'preview video\'s\' of look like a real crappy low res captures. Anyway, imo Silent Hill 2 is gonna be just fine. Keep in mind we get the special edition pack with the MGS2 new trailer.
About the flicker in the menu screen : try to use the RGB Euro AV cable ! Damn, that\'s really helluva lot better than the standard cable you got with the console. I\'ve got one, and I\'m never going back to integrated AV anymore. For dvd I use, of course, the dvd Region X ! LOL :D
I watched someone play WRC for a brief moment in a gameshop. Somehow the graphics were clean, but then less impressive than the screens we\'ve seen on the net. Maybe because it was a preview version. I hope it gets better.
But eh, Sony ...., give me Ico PAL now please, instead of games like Airblade and Dark cloud.

Yeah, the Wipeout Demo is an old build of the game (probably the demo from E3 2001) Check out the latest screenshots and movies and you\'ll see that the jaggies have gone, and the game is even faster

Got different opinions now.
Silent Hill 2 is classy. Found battle mode so I was able to get my teeth stuck in a bit more. ;)
I use a RGB scart cable already. It just seems a flicky game. Like when the screen is black it pulses a little bit but i think its to keep the atmosphere the whole game graphics are weird but I like them.
WRC is actually quite good. Still not a rally fan so I won\'t be buying it but I had another go on it last night and its decent.
The more I play airblade the better it seems.
The rest of my opinions are still the same though. :)
