It seems as though there are a lot of games on both platforms that I really would enjoy. However, I already own a Ps2, and at a price of 199.99, at this point, I seem to want to buy a GC more than an Xbox. Please give me some opinions on both of these systems and why I should buy one or the other.... HOWEVER I DONT WANT A FLAME WAR.... this is just a post to see what the opinions of other gamers are... a flame war is unnecessary. Try not to argue... Thanks.

Alright, For starters GC and Xbox are both great consoles right now. It all depends on what types of games you like. You said you might want a Gamecube more than an Xbox, I say go with a GC than.
If you really like Platformers, Survival Horrors, Adventures than go ahead a pick up a Gamecube. Most of the games will be around those genres.
If you like FPS get an Xbox and Halo (I played a little of it and it\'s good). Also you said you have a PS2, Xbox is very similar to the PS2 both have the same types of genres.
Nowadays developers aren\'t keeping much exclusives any more(except for the first-party developers), so whatever system you get, your sure to have a great time.
If you can\'t decide which one to get, than stick with your PS2. It has plenty of good games. DMC, J&D, MGS2, GTA3, GT3, ICO, FFX. These are experinces you can\'t get on any other systems this year.

If you already have a PS2, then I would say get a Gamecube. The PS2 and the Xbox are going to be very similar. A lot of the AAA games coming to the Xbox will already be on the PS2. If I were you, I\'d get a GC for the exclusives.

Well after trying both, the GC controll is excellent (except for that tiny and useless dpad).
No one can help you with your decision, really because it is a matter of taste.
Personally, after witnessing the n64 debacle, and a pretty lackluster launch, the GC is off my radar right now. You could name titles like Mario, Metroid and Zelda, but I was seriously underwhelmed with the N64 and N\'s first party titles (after launch). I\'m going to wait and see (and probably never own that cute little purple box--man is it small!!).
The xbox has a few titles that interest me with Halo leading the way. If it weren\'t for Halo I\'m not sure I\'d be that psyched for the xbox. DOA3 looks good, but I do prefer 2d fighters (although if I get an xbox I\'ll eventually get it). Other than that, I\'d pick up NHL 2002 (I know it\'s for every system).
For me, PC gaming is a wonderful thing--deep, meaningful and serious. That\'s why the xbox is a breath of fresh air for me. Console game are console games--I\'ve been playing them since Atari 2600, but the xbox is a shift in perspective, sure it\'ll have console-ish games and I\'ll play a great number of them, but why not get the best of both? Those are my views.

Definitely an Xbox
Gamecube is primarily those who actully like Nintendo 1st party games
Xbox has qay more support and is more powerful. 2nd and 3rd gen Xbox games will be well worth it and will easily make it a better console then the lamepube

1) I\'m not a "rich son of b!tch". Yet, I am getting both on their respective launch date. It really isn\'t that hard, get a job and put money back.

That is a rather ignorant statement. You could easily say why get both, when you could spend that 200 on four more XBox games..Geeze..

I also vote for X-box. Mainly for DOA3. I\'ve seen how good that game looks and I can see better things on the Box than the Cube. Either one could die in a matter of months but it just seems to me like everything Nintendo has done since the Super NES has been half-assed.
M$ on the other hand, has spent millions of $ on advertising and has invested time in getting developers lined up.
This is a perfect example of what I mean:
Go over to the X-box.com website and check out how many developers are listed. Then go over and check out the Gamecube.com website and see how many developers are listed. Oh that\'s right, you can\'t b/c the Gamecube site is still under construction

I would get Gamecube , i dont know it just seems to have a nice span of diffrent types of games , Rogue leader kicks ass my freind... IMO , GC.

GameCube and XBox are just about equal in 3rd party support if you take away all of MS\'s 300+ no name developers. I don\'t see really why they count.

I would say go with GC since x-box got some bad reveiws yesterday by some people who got x-box and it seems im the only one who has got GC today and I thought it was awsome.

get an xbox why??? one reason... I mean if a sony "Fanboy" call me that if you may can turn around and love xbox just because of one game then its got to be pretty good... I mean its your choice... Id say go for an xbox because gamecube is really well some quality games but don\'t expect like more than 6 games a month... and expect one of them to be of good quality... Xbox on the other hand...

Thats more than enough of a reason.... And there are numerous others tht I just don\'t want or feel like listing... Plus if your an online gamer which I am... you\'ll love the xbox... unless you have 56 k =).... Well goodluck with your choice I suggest getting an xbox you won\'t be dissapointed.
