Is it possible for the PS2 to have bump maping like the X-Box?
-
yeah TTT used it on the floor of the ogre level.

Yes.

OK, so basicaly the PS2 can look as good as the X-Box if the programers put forth enough effort.?

I think the Emotion Engine is a Great CPU,you can do a lot of things simultaneously...you can implement various kinds of AA,multi pass-techniques,bump mapping(Naughty Dog said that they\'re going to implement a bump-mapping engine, environment mapping and 8 pass techniques via software(obviously:) ) in their next game...) but I\'m not so sure PS2 can reach the same quality of these effects on the X-Box...and we have to consider that everything we implement via software take a greater hit in performance compared to what we whould have achieved via hardware...
let\'s wait and see...

Yes ps2 can do bump mapping in TTT look at the floor on the snow stage. :)

Yes it can do it, but the CPU will take a hit.
