Unfair, a lot of people did not get one yet, and haven\'t played enough games to hate it or love with total conviction I suppose. ;)

IMO, the launch title lineup sucks. Of course, some people like the launch games. To each their own poison. IMO.

Luigi\'s Mansion is simple, effective and fun.

Xbox games are none of the above, well, okay they are simple. However, they are not effective and fun. HALO, you say? Well, hell, its another FPS and if I want the actual good version of HALO, I will wait for it to come out for the PC... Ya\' know, online play and a keyboard and mouse? DOA3? I hated DOA back in its PS days and I think I grow more tired of it with each installment, still I thought I\'d give it a try. Played it for maybe 10-15 mintues and realized it was just DOA2 with enhanced graphics. Wow, that is just tons of fun.. Gotham Racing? The one game I was truly lookin\' forward to at Xbox launch (people who have been here on the board awhile, will remember me being excited about it) was terrible even. Now lets see, RS2 for the GC..Hmm, exciting and fun. LUigi\'s Mansion? Effective and fun...

See the obvious difference (I doubt you do, but I thought I\'d ask)?

What I think is that X-Box is an impressive console...

...the launch games are very good...and there\'re a lot of interesting games coming out...

...I\'m getting one on the end of this month or the beginning of december...

Amazing!

I don\'t know what to say other than Xbox is the best...

Halo is still dropping my jaw even after about 10 hours of gameplay.

Munch, I love this game.  I\'ve been playing for about 6-8 hours and I still love it.   The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is rock solid and interesting.  Maybe I\'m just a freak but I\'m all about this game.

Dead Or Alive 3...The wow factor settled in and I started to lose interest, BUT THEN I picked it up again and I\'m hooked on the gameplay.  It really is much smoother and player friendly than DOA2.  That and every other fighting game pales in comparison, IMO!

These are the killer apps of the Xbox.  They are great IMO and I can\'t wait to see what else is coming.

Also, all of you who are basing your judgement on these bitter PS2 fanboys opinions...go play an Xbox for yourself.  I recommend Halo, DOA3, Munch, and Project Gotham to start out with.

;)

Sorry it took so long to reply...

Anyway, story aside you play as either Munch or Abe.  Both have special abilities that are needed in certain areas in order to advance to the next stage.

Munch is a strong swimmer, works machines,  and can zap enemies with his head.  He has to rescue the Fuzzles and mostly commands them to attack nearby enemies until he can get them to a portal.  The more he saves the better his Quarma is.

Abe is like his always been.  He can run, jump, possess, etc.  He rescues other mudokans.  He must keep them alive in order to advance through the stage (you\'ll need certain numbers of them to chant so you can pass through doors and such).

At first, each character has their own stages.  It\'s so you get to know the character\'s basic moves is their respective environments.  After several stages, they meet up and must work together in order to solve puzzles and progress to the next stage.

The puzzles range anywhere from bright neon signs telling you what to do all the way to completely oblivious as to what\'s going on.

I\'m hooked on the game.  The game definitely has personality.  The graphics are beautiful.  The gameplay is perfect.

If you like platform games, then you owe it to yourself.  Get Munch...

Uhhhhhhhhh.......I hate to say this but GC launch sucked to me.  Are you saying luigi mansion is better than halo?!?!!?  NO WAY!!!!!!  I would put halo up their with mgs2 with greatness.  DOA3 is awesome, hey at least xbox had a fighter at launch unlike gamecube.  Btw, your talking about Project Gothem which is an awesome game as well.  Did gamecube even have a racer at launch?  I personally think xbox badly beats gamecube imo.  Yes I played both consoles and made the right choice and brought an xbox.:fro: :thepimp:

Rast, chill out man, If he finds Luigi\'s mansion better then Halo, well, let him think whatever the hell he pleases, you sound like your forcing your words onto him. LOL, DOA3 is awesome? Hell no it isn\'t, anyone that says DOA3 is awesome, and brings alot of stuff to the table gameplay wise is an idiot. DOA3 is DOA2 on steriods, PLAIN AND SIMPLE RAST, you can NOT deny that DOA3 doesn\'t bring anything new to the table gameplay wise. RL is to damn fun, yet effective, I can\'t get enough of it. Halo as good as MGS2? I doubt that, MGS2 is quite a bit more realalistic, Halo on the other hand, is a complete different game from MGS2, but still, Halo can\'t compare to MGS2\'s top notch storyline. Project Gotham is ****, at least, from what I\'ve heard from people that have it. Don\'t get me wrong, I have an Xbox, but it doesn\'t BADLY BEAT GC like you say it does.  End of story, LET PEOPLE THINK what they want about games, and or consoles. Keep your opipion to yourself, or at least don\'t make it sound as if your pushing it on someone.

DOA3=PURE CRAP.

HALO is up there with MGS2? Yeah, I\'d agree with that. Both are totally over-rated and boring (IMO)... As for the , "at least Xbox had a fighter at launch", well, I would rather wait for a good fighter, than settle for a terrible one at launch. Oh and yeah, GC did have a racer at launch - it is called WaveRace.

Its all personal opinion.

You can\'t really Judge these consoles yet - u guys do know that don\'t u? - just like u couldn\'t judge the ps2 at its launch. Wait a few months before u eat your own words.

Thats the problem I don\'t see a decent gamecube fighter in the future, SC2 is coming to every systems and won\'t be out for a lllloooonnnnnnggggg time.  DOA3 is a great and deep game imo.  I\'m  having a blast with my xbox.  PG is crap?  No way!!!!  Yeah but if doa3 is just a "rehash" so is waveracer BS. RL2 is  basically just a prettier version of RL1 as well.   I still think xbox launch was way better than gamecube.

DOA3 does bring a lot to the table.  Two very important things come to mind: the ability to move around in 3D seemlessly (this has not been done until now) and the obsicles that litter the arenas change the game dramatically and add a lot of strategy.  Counters have been toned down, and combos have been improved.  This is a much improved game (over DOA2).  There are two reasons why this game is getting bad reviews from most of you guys: it\'s not on PS2 and you haven\'t played it enough to form an opinion and therefore make the easy comment: it\'s just like DOA2 and DOA2 was bad, trying to protect your system of choice and its integrity.

DOA3 is no VF, no game is, VF is great, but other than that, DOA3 is untouched in the 3D realm (it\'s no SF either).  Tekken vs DOA3?  It comes down to preference.  But neither game is cheaper.  Tekken is still a 2D game, which is fine, but it is not truly 3D.  Tekken has some cheap characters, so does DOA3.  Tekken\'s move list is no deeper than DOA3\'s.  Tekken is no less a button masher than DOA3.  Tekkens combos are no tougher to pull off than DOA3\'s.  If you people would actually play the game for more than 5 minutes at EB and stop *****ing about it, you might actually like it.

Halo is a superb game.  There is a sense of immediacy and of the epic.  It\'s a huge, complicated and engrossing game--how can so many reviewers be wrong?  I\'ve played a great number of shooters on the PC, and I\'m having a blast playing this game.

MGS2?  I\'ve been playing this too, although not as much as Halo.  Bear in mind that I didn\'t like the previous installment that much.  But for people that loved the first, MGS2 it is a wonderful game.  I\'d say overrated (still a worthy play though just because it is so cool and slick), but people love this game--and how can so many reviewers be wrong?

Comparing Luigi to these games is laughable.  In graphics?  They are about the same I\'d say (although I hate the cartoony look, they are still well concieved).  But in scope it is terribly lacking.  There is no depth in gameplay.  There are different plans of attack available in the two games listed above, but this game will be played the same way by every person. People complain about the lack of weapon choice in Halo--what about this game?  N is usually pretty good about creating games that appeal to both the young and old, but this one fails.

I haven\'t played WV enough to form an opinion, but if it is like the N64 version, it should be pretty solid.

I do not like RS however.  Flying on a rail, invisible space "walls", nice graphics and sound effects, N64 remake (of a bad game) is my summation of this game.

PGR I played for about an hour.  It was kind of fun.  I like the kudos.  But I didn\'t like it much overall.  I also don\'t like GT much either.  Racing games seem pointless to me and I\'m not a car aficionado.  Nice graphics though.

Very well put watchdog.  I think halo beats every gamecube launch game.  Same applies for doa3 and project gothem.  I mean  I\'ve played RL2 and I thought the graphics was awesome but gameplay wise its was uh.......just kinda average.  I consider halo revoultion in the gameplay department the way the made the A.I. so advance along with the weapon and veichle you can use in the game.  Sorry, guys doa3 is not just doa2.  Like watchdog said if you actually sat down and played the game for a couple of hours then you would realize its a lot better and deeper than doa2.  Just my opinion on this subject.:nerd:

Smash Bros. Melee.

It\'s not going to any other console except the cube along with 4-player support, the best franchise characters around (even though I think they are a bit overused altogether) along with a fighting engine that isn\'t exactly oozing with innovation, but at least it deson\'t hide behind the guise of some punk director saying it\'s the "best fighter ever."  It\'s a simple fun game with LOADS of replay value that just takes away a few hours with friends in an insanely fun way.  Besides... Platinum from Famitsu anybody?  The game must be pretty damn good to get that.

Uhhhhhhhhhh............thats the problem I wasn\'t so crazy about the first one.  Give me doa3 anyday of the week over that.  DOA3 is a masterpiece to me plain and simple.  Sure famitsu may have gave it a good rating but that game isn\'t my cup of tea.  I prefer soomething along the lines of tekken, vf, snk vs. capcom, doa, and soul cailbur.:fro: :fro:

Not much of a fighter.  I mean it just wasn\'t deep enough to keep my interest like something like tekken, VF, or DOA.  It seems more like a mini game than a real fighting game.

Yeah thats your opinion you thought it was awesome.  MK5 big deal ps2 and xbox is getting that as well and it won\'t be out til Fall 2002.  Typical nintendo making you wait for a fighting game.   Bloody Roar Extreme ought to be pretty sweet but its just an enchaned port of Bloody Roar 3 on ps2.  Couldn\'t they made a new one from scartch?  I\'m just comparing gamecube fighting games to ps2 which their is no comparison.  Ps2 has tekken 4, snk vs. capcom 2, UFC throwdown, VF4, SC2, Bloody Roar 4(yes its in development), and others we don\'t know about.  I\'m sorry comparing SSM:Melee to doa3 is a joke.  DOA3 blows away SSB:melee.  Even nintendo fighters are kiddy...........I\'ll stick to ps2 and xbox.

    If you actually sat down and played it you would realize that temco has dramtically improved the gameplay and add more technique to the game.  For example you can use the eniviorment to your advantage even more in doa3.  Also it has a better 8 way walk systems and a tweaked and deeper combo systems.  Hudson admitted that BRE is bascially just an enchaned port of the ps2 bloody roar 3.  If you actually sat down and played doa3 you will realize it one of the best fighters ever.

I have sat down with it.  I have played it extensively and I still stick true to my original impressions of it.  It\'s DOA2 Pretty, nothing more.  You saw this great fighting game in DOA2 and most everybody else saw a blah ho-hum fighter with little to no skill involved.  It\'s opinion vs opinion though, but it\'d be pretty funny if you called it the greatest fighter ever and a button masher came in and whomped on you.

But you keep claiming SSB:Melee is the greatest thing on earth. That kiddy crap....

So, why don\'t you tell me what makes DOA3 so mature without mentioning any assest of any of the female fighters because that is not what makes a game mature.  In fact, I think those things make the series even more juvenile than SSB:M.

Super Smash Brothers was/is one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time IMO. The replay value was endless. Different exciting moments many items, ect. It was just pure fun. Now Rastlant if you have ever owned SSB you\'d like it. I belive you haven\'t really givin it even a try. You have not even played SSBM yet and you diss it to hell as being terrible and not even a fighter. I have not played DOA3 at all. I have seen videos ect of it. I can only trust Ryu as we have had similar opinions in the past. SBB(M) is just for fun. Its not your deep, get into it gameplay, its a party fun game designed to keep you fighting to the last knock out. You are intitled to your opinion. I just wish you wouldn\'t bash poor SSBM because you don\'t like it. I don\'t like MGS2, I don\'t see why its so great. Too much stealth for me. I\'d rather blow everything up. Guess thats just part of my personality.

DOA3 is for idiots who want pretty graphics and want to look impressive while fme that requires the IQ  of a chimp (no offense, Clyde).. Nothing more.

Deep gameplay is VF4, not DOA3. There is a big difference...

Uhhhhhhhh............     Well the same could be said about that kiddy smash bros melee.   You have your opinion and I have mine.  DOA3 blows that mess away in graphics and gameplay department.  :fro:

Yes, compared to  VF, DOA3 doesn\'t stand up.  But neither does Tekken.  That\'s all I\'ve said.  You can\'t hold up every game to the very best in the industry--it\'s just not fair.  Sometimes I like something a little "lighter".

Just because DOA3 isn\'t a deep as VF, doesn\'t invalidate it as a game.  Games are played for fun and DOA3 IS fun and that\'s why it ranks highly on my list.

And it\'s not simply a better looking DOA2.

Have you played Melee? No? Then you can\'t say. You can\'t even use the argument that Melee is shallow because the first one was, as that is the arguement you are using with DOA3.

By the way - did I ever say Melee wasn\'t shallow? No. I didn\'t even mention Melee. I mentioned VF4. I suggest you read what you quote, before you respond....

Melee is a button masher.  It\'s fun though.

Rasta,

I think you are blowing DOA3 out of proportion. I\'ve played DOA2 (since the day it came out on DC) and DOA3 is very similar. Granted, DOA3 has some extra stuff thrown into the gameplay, but it\'s not a whole new world.

As LiC already stated, you want depth, you play a VF game. However, as Watchdog mentioned, DOA is just a fighting game you can play for fun, without having to think too much. And that\'s the reason I bought it. Sometimes in the middle of my VF/SF matches, I need some mindless fun fighters than I can pick up and just have fun with. Which is actually one of the reasons I want Smash Brothers. Can\'t say it\'s mindless since I have yet to play it, but if it\'s anything like the first one, then the same rules apply. :)

At first I DIDN\'T i called a stupid kiddy game. Then I played it and boy is it fun. Man the game is great. I would not call it a real fighter like sTREET fighter, or VF but it is very fun.

And I think doa3 is good. I like it a lot. I think it way steps above doa2. I can\'t get enough of it.

Of course.  Most people do think graphics are what makes a game great.
