Title: What are the chances of Xbox doing well outside the US?

NB: Please excuse my grammar, I\'m not a native English speaker.

I am not trying to start a flame war or anything. All I really want is your opinion.

So far I think Xbox has a pretty good start in the US (at least better than GC in Japan) but what about the rest of the world? A Japanese friend of mine told me that most Japanese gamers only prefer the PS2, they don\'t really care about other consoles. But one can never predict what will happen tomorrow.

In the PAL region, the Xbox won\'t be released any time until probably March or April. GC might also show up by that time (providing the rumour was false) and FFX (there are people who buy a PS2 just for this game), which last time I heard will be released around that time too so honestly, will the Xbox have a big chance of success over there? A console, IMO cannot succeed if it only do well in one country although I do think that Xbox will have a chance of doing well around the world.
I might consider getting one if it does well or have more than 5 games that I desperately wanted.

What do you think?

well..since it will ne 399 $ here.. I honestly dont know

From the looks of it now, is that GC is going to crush the xbox big time (at least here in holland) But that might change once everybody sees the xbox kiosks

yeah MM, I ment those, we in holland are getting 500 kiosks nationwide :D

after having the price and release date confirmed for here in europe - NO. I think xbox will only do quite well in the US, but as for Japan and Europe, I really doubt so.

X-box will do ok but not great here. Since about half the people of these forums who got the box didnt like it I think some places outside of the world wont sell to many boxes.
