Title: S-Video or Component?

I just got a new 36" SONY WEGA XBR, and I was wondering how to get the best sound and video quality out of my PS2. Any help would be appreciated.

Component.
I\'ve done the comparison between S-video and component, and while there is a discernable difference between the two, it is not as great as upgrading from composite.

Optical for audio, if you have a receiver that is Dolby Digital capable.

The sony brand cables should suffice, and are of a decent quality; you\'ll definately pay-through-the-nose for the Monster variety. Additionally, the Monster component cables are not coupled with audio connections, so if you are not using, or unable to use an optical connection, you will have no sound.

I aggree that is how mine is setup...I have a Toshiba TFT that has S-video,component,composite,and coax TV (crap...crap) in.  I use the optical cable for audio into my Playworks DTT 2500 Digital Receiver and the component video through my TV and there is an output in the 2500 that I use to connect to my TV for audio on my Tv so I have 7 spekers and a subwoofer(2 front, 1 Center , 2 Rear, and the 2 peakers on my TV)...Plus my Digital Cable is hooked up  through it.. Sweet huh :D :D
