Mariah Carey is turning to desperate measures to sell her albums. In the wake of disappointing sales for her new release "Glitter", Mariah Carey\'s Web site is promoting her music as a way to lose weight. Here\'s how it works, according to the Web site: "It has been proven that singing along to Mariah Carey\'s ballads can increase lung endurance... thus modifying the time of the average work out by up to 20% longer."
To use the rather untested Mariah Carey weight-loss method, the site gives these instructions: "Play Mariah\'s killer tracks Never Too Far, When I Saw You, Forever, Mariah\'s Theme, Without You, After Tonight and Hero at the volume at which you would watch TV and sing over it. You don\'t need to sound like Mariah for this to work, just sing with passion and hold the note duration\'s [sic]," advises her Web site. "A tip: Try to belt out the high notes she does, you probably won\'t get there, but it gives your lungs a work out. Just be careful that you don\'t strain your throat." The site advises people with respiratory problems to "be careful".
