Meaning being vertical vs. horizantal, one gets longer life out of the ps2?
-
well yeah
horizantal = it lasts longer
Vertical = it gets up in the middle of the night and drinks all your Beer (bad PS2 BAD !!!!!!!!!!!)

Hrmm maybe, but I seriously doubt it. There would have to be a case study..
Maybe one way puts less wear on the motor, but they are all limited to a number of hours of usage.. I think the motors are to work for about 150,000 hours and the laser to 300,000 hours..
But I have not looked into it for some time.. I will try and find out.

Mine is horizontal..
I remember when I still used my PSone.. It was all worn out.. It really wouldn\'t play games too long till it froze or something.. Then one day I put it in a "doggy-style" stance and then it started working again! LOL.. but then it wore out also.. so I put it vertical.. controller ports up.. Then it worked again.. Of course I put it to rest after I got my PS2. :)

I have a vertical stand but don\'t use it cuz\' the discs don\'t seem secure when it\'s vertical. Maybe if they "locked" in but they don\'t, they just sorta "rest" there. It makes me scared. :(

Yeah you better look into that because you\'re talking about a motor running 17 years long, and 34 years for the laser. Not including when the PS2 is off.

Vertical Looks Cooler :thepimp:
You can see the logo without standing up over the ps2 :nerd:
