Hey guys,
dount anyone remembers me, been a long time and havent had much time to be around working 2 jobs and all
anyways I was wondering what\'s a good magazine to subscribe to, to get some decent information, i got myself a gamecube on launch date and with ign making you pay for some of the good articles I want to read i cant seem to find what im looking for.
Is there a good unbaised mag out there to subscribe to or with the money i was going to put to subscribing just register to ign? would that be worth it?
Any information would be extremely helpful.
Thanks

If you frequent the net and have broadband access, I think IGN Insider would suit you well. If you are looking for on the go coverage of everything, then I recommend NextGen magazine. Their layouts and screenshots are top notch in every issue and their writers are fairly competant. Unless of course... Dan Egger writes for them...

Thanks for the reply Ryu
I do have broadband access and I take it once your an insider you can check any platform out and any article?

JOE!!!!!! YOU SLIMEBAG MSN NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!###########3
Ah... subscribe to Penthouse or something:)

Well since you have a gamecube, nintendo power aint bad, but it will only talk about the game cube and thats it, well it will talk about gameboy advance and maybe a little bit of 64 still but never about any other system, i sometimes their reviews are a tad bit biased. but i think its still a good mag.

EGM is best multiplatform magazine IMO.
-
EDGE always has very high quality inside game development articles., but their reviews aren\'t anything special. The best ps2 mag is definatly the UK OPM, everything about the mag is great + you get a demo disc :). Nex Gen is good, but as Ryu said Dan Egger can\'t write reviews for ****. I\'d say, go for EDGe or Next Gen
whatever you do don\'t ever get a Gamepro or a EGM, the first one is pure trash and the second is always against ps2, their reviews are also short and rushed

All mags are pretty bad. Usually too biased. Get your info over the net. Faster and updated daily and free.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Weltall i dont have msn anymore i formatted my comp about a month or so ago and i dont remember my msn password :(

Gamers Republic was awsome. But after I renewed my subscription they seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth. This happened twice already, thanks ODCM and Gamers Republic, you really know how to rip a guy off.

Personally,
I like EGM. I don\'t see how they\'re anti-ps2 -- I think their reviews are fair.
Hey you can\'t take the net with you into the can, right? (unless you have a labtop.) ;)

I think EGM is not bias, but their reviews are horrible. They usually take a pretty good game and tear it apart. It takes an amazing game to even score decent. They\'re much to harsh. They were good, but then a year and 1/2 or so ago when the got rid of most of their review crew and replaced them they really started to suck.

Not for anything, but can you name me some reviews that you felt were unjust? Just curious.

I don\'t like NextGen at all. I used to subscribe to it but it got very thin and it became very hard for the magazine to cover everything in-depth. Usually instead of getting the mags I go to a select few websites, especially this one.

Well, in hindsight I guess it wasn\'t as bad as I just stated, but I feel their Legend of Dragoon and Ring of Red reviews sucked. But even worse than that was when they gave FFVIII a 10, what were they thinking? They made me think the game was great... and then I bought it.

Ouch. I don\'t blame you then. :)
I\'ve only been a subscriber for about 5 months, so I never read that junk. The reviewers they have now. . . are they the same ones?

ever since sushi-x left that mag has gone down but its still my fav.

sushi-x was awsome. But lets not forget about good ol\' John Ricciardi and Shawn Smith. They all left right? I don\'t really pay attention. And data some might be some might not, I don\'t really pay attention to their reviews anymore.
