Title: Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring - am I the only one excited?
Post by: Darth Joyda on December 03, 2001, 04:17:55 AM: December 3rd. 7 days to go \'til the very first premiere in London. 16 days to go \'til I will be able to see it. And the reviews ( from early screenings ) thus far has been EXCELLENT.

Rolling Stone rated it no. 1 on the top 10 this year.

I have been waiting forward to this movie since christmas \'99. Meaning that I have checked few of the LotR movie-sites ( TheOneRing.net for example ) in daily basis for two years, gathering all the info, script excerpts and images I have gotten. Now I have a pretty clear image of what I am facing, and that image is dark, depressing, emotional but BEAUTIFUL.

Even if you have never read the books, go and see the film.
So, am I the only one excited, or is this countdown going for nothing?

i havent read the books but i know most of what they are about

and i already know after sitting through this one it is gonna make next christmas take that much longer to get here :D if ya know what i mean

I hope Lord of the ring makes more money and that Harry Potter\'s record is taken away right after they got it.

I doubt it though...

I saw the trailer when it premiered during an episode of Angel, and it blew my mind...it looks exactly like you would imagine Middle-Earth would, and the Ringwraiths look evil as all Hell...I\'m already practically standing in line for this one...

Harry Potter my hairy a$$!! The LOTR trilogy will be THE biggest thing since sliced bread.

And yes, Peter Jackson is the first in the world to film a trilogy at one time. The sequels still need a lot of effect work though (that\'s what they\'re gonna spend the next year or so on).

They like built the whole thing, not like some movies. Like it was a town or something. You could walk into every room and the whole room was filled with stuff even if it was a room that wasnt gonna be shown in the movie

Our local theater started pre-selling the tickets today - but I\'m not going to get them yet ( as I haven\'t yet planned with my friends whether we attend the midnight showing on tuesday/wednesday night or not - which would, btw., start a minute earlier than in Helsinki :) ). There was a \'making of\' document on Sweden\'s TV4 last Tuesday, and it was AWE-SOME. Some of the scenes just looked mind-blowing.

They also showed a 1 minute clip of the Moria sequence. OMFG. That\'s the best i can do to describe the feeling I got.

The movie is going to ROCK the **** out of Star Wars AND Harry \'the nerd\' Potter

New Line is an american company, and usually the films are released in the US first. Then they take a few months to prepare the international releases, and loop the other languages into the audio.

For LOTR, do you think you\'re going to get a version in your national language, an english language version with subtitles, or will you just get the same version we get (english language / no subtitles)?

We will get a English version with subtitles..
We only dub kiddie cartoon films here for the kids..

Not like in Germany, Italy, France they dub everything.. :D

It is 5 years ago since first time I touched the LOTR book :) I have been reading that book 3 times now and it is realy the best story ever to be told. I saw Harry Potter yesteday, it was a good movie...... but not the best I have seen. Now I know what all the hype is all about. Kid movie

Yes, it is a world-wide release - and reasons to it, I believe, are the facts that the movie is VERY expensive, and because all the three movies were filmed at once. But, I\'m happy this way - and actually show Mr. Lucas the middle-finger for not doing the same with Star Wars!

Also, yesterday there was a two-minute clip of Frodo and Gandalf sitting in Bag-End, Gandalf throwing the Ring into the fire on BBC1, an american channel. I\'m waiting someone to upload it online, you see ;)
