December 3rd. 7 days to go \'til the very first premiere in London. 16 days to go \'til I will be able to see it. And the reviews ( from early screenings ) thus far has been EXCELLENT.
Rolling Stone rated it no. 1 on the top 10 this year.
Here\'s a link to a very positive review ( that will give you a good image of what is to come ): http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=10911
I have been waiting forward to this movie since christmas \'99. Meaning that I have checked few of the LotR movie-sites ( TheOneRing.net for example ) in daily basis for two years, gathering all the info, script excerpts and images I have gotten. Now I have a pretty clear image of what I am facing, and that image is dark, depressing, emotional but BEAUTIFUL.
Even if you have never read the books, go and see the film.
So, am I the only one excited, or is this countdown going for nothing?
-
Well , i dont really read those fanasy books (its not really my type I guess) but from the looks of it it looks cool. A good rental I must say :)
-
I f*cking love the books ! can\'t stop reading them ! its awesome and i can\'t wait to see the movie ! movie looks awesome ! :bounce:
-

-

i havent read the books but i know most of what they are about
and i already know after sitting through this one it is gonna make next christmas take that much longer to get here :D if ya know what i mean

There was a post about this a while back that asked people which movie they thought would do better, LOTR or Harry Potter... I said Harry Potter, but we will still have to see.
I hope Lord of the ring makes more money and that Harry Potter\'s record is taken away right after they got it.
I doubt it though...
-
You\'re not the only one, Darth...I can\'t wait for this movie either. I saw the trailer when it premiered during an episode of Angel, and it blew my mind...it looks exactly like you would imagine Middle-Earth would, and the Ringwraiths look evil as all Hell...I\'m already practically standing in line for this one...

long live Frodo!

I think New Zealand is the second place that gets to see it. Thats where it is made. A lot of it was shot about an hours drive away from where I live.
I\'ve got my ticket for it
-
Isn\'t there good Kiwi in New Zealand?
I know how to say New Zealand in Chinese:
Xinxilan
It means the "Great West Orchid"
I take chinese, ;)
-
what do you mean good kiwi in New Zealand?
Kiwi\'s are only in New Zealand, unless you go to a zoo
-
lol,
I mean the fruit.

Not gonna beat Potter at the box office IMO.
Heard that the sequels are already filmed and are ready for releases in 2002 and 2003?

Harry Potter my hairy a$$!! The LOTR trilogy will be THE biggest thing since sliced bread.
And yes, Peter Jackson is the first in the world to film a trilogy at one time. The sequels still need a lot of effect work though (that\'s what they\'re gonna spend the next year or so on).
-
hahahahha we already have pirated versions in Russia!!! Hahahahahaha you guys have to wait more!!! Haahaha. yes.
:thepimp: :thepimp: :thepimp:
-
pirated tapes I mean.

You guys should of seen Minis Tirith in real life. At least I think it was Minis Tirith. It looked so cool. They like built the whole thing, not like some movies. Like it was a town or something. You could walk into every room and the whole room was filled with stuff even if it was a room that wasnt gonna be shown in the movie

Joyda, you\'re definitely not the only one, didn\'t you see in the papers, all those fanatics lining up in front of Helsinki\'s Tennispalatsi, some even slept there :)
-
lol - I did see them Lady :) Few of my friends from TolkienOnline got interviewed as well.
Our local theater started pre-selling the tickets today - but I\'m not going to get them yet ( as I haven\'t yet planned with my friends whether we attend the midnight showing on tuesday/wednesday night or not - which would, btw., start a minute earlier than in Helsinki :) ). There was a \'making of\' document on Sweden\'s TV4 last Tuesday, and it was AWE-SOME. Some of the scenes just looked mind-blowing.
They also showed a 1 minute clip of the Moria sequence. OMFG. That\'s the best i can do to describe the feeling I got.
The movie is going to ROCK the **** out of Star Wars AND Harry \'the nerd\' Potter
-
After TV4\'s little Behind the Scenes thingy, Im definitely hyped for this movie.. :D
-
Why are you folks in Finland / Sweden etc. going to get the film released so soon? New Line is an american company, and usually the films are released in the US first. Then they take a few months to prepare the international releases, and loop the other languages into the audio.
For LOTR, do you think you\'re going to get a version in your national language, an english language version with subtitles, or will you just get the same version we get (english language / no subtitles)?
-
LOTR is a DEFINITE for me. I\'ve read these books over and over through my years..and can\'t wait to see this production. Other attempts typically have sucked lemons...but this version simply looks superb. Can\'t wait!!!

Cuz we rule? :D ;)
We will get a English version with subtitles..
We only dub kiddie cartoon films here for the kids..
Not like in Germany, Italy, France they dub everything.. :D
-
I slept outside the cinema for 3 days with almost 100 other peeps there.... Yes, I GOT THE TICKETS :)
It is 5 years ago since first time I touched the LOTR book :) I have been reading that book 3 times now and it is realy the best story ever to be told. I saw Harry Potter yesteday, it was a good movie...... but not the best I have seen. Now I know what all the hype is all about. Kid movie
-
Coredweller: it\'s going to be in english but subtitled. Would be crazy to have finnish dubs - would ruin the whole movie :)
Yes, it is a world-wide release - and reasons to it, I believe, are the facts that the movie is VERY expensive, and because all the three movies were filmed at once. But, I\'m happy this way - and actually show Mr. Lucas the middle-finger for not doing the same with Star Wars!

WORD man! :)
PS. Dubs suck. I feel bad for the countries using that ****. :)
-
I will go and get my tickets in an hour! Yeah.
Also, yesterday there was a two-minute clip of Frodo and Gandalf sitting in Bag-End, Gandalf throwing the Ring into the fire on BBC1, an american channel. I\'m waiting someone to upload it online, you see ;)
BUMKICK!
up you go.
